Chapter Three: Jess' writing is in black and Hannah's writing is in white. Enjoy!

“All powerful my ARSE.” Hannah muttered as they pegged it down a corridor being pursued by 17 hospital staff and a big dog. “You couldn't even conjure up $5,629,784!”
“Look, Hannah – I'm not SUPERMAN. I'm not WONDERWOMAN. I'm not a member of the X-MEN.”
“Nein, but I am!” Kurt said, grabbing Toby with his tail because he wasn't running fast enough.
“Yeah, about that – just what are you doing here?!” Jess exclaimed. “Not that I'm complaining…” She added.
They skidded around a corner and into an elevator. Hannah pressed a button and the doors closed before the staff (and dog) could get them.
“Phew. That was close.” Kurt slumped against the wall.
“We're gonna make it!” Chris J said, happily, jumping up and down. “We're going to make it!”
Suddenly, the lift made an ominous clanking noise and stopped. The lights went out and they were plunged into blackness.
“You were SAYING?!” Chris B said, wryly.

“GET OFF ME!” Jess's shriek interrupted the silence in the lift.
“WHAT?!” Chris B's voice shouted in the lift. “WHO'S ON YOU?!”
“Are you blushing?!” Hannah's voice sounded.
“How do you know?” Chris J answered, shocked and embarrassed with the mistake he had just made.
“I just could tell…” Hannah said back in the vague direction where she thought Chris was in the pitch-black lift.
“It's ok, Jess! Vhy are you scared? No need to be! You don't need to hide behind me!!” Kurt said.
“Keep that evil man away from me!” Jess said, sounding scared.
“I'm sorry!!” Chris J said form the opposite side of the lift.
“Chris J, you naughty man!” Hannah said.

“Oh, sorry…was that your leg?” Chris said, embarrassed.
“Yes.” Hannah paused. “Who's leg were you going for?!”
“Oh for God's sake.” Jess fumbled in her pocket for a moment and triumphantly pulled out her mobile. She pressed a button and the elevator was partially illuminated by the green glow.
“Blimey.” Hannah picked herself up and looked around, which was fairly pointless as the elevator was about 7 feet square with nothing in it.
“What are we going to do?” Jess asked.
“There's a telephone here,” Kurt pointed out, indicating the emergency phone.
“We can't call that! The hospital people will capture us as soon as we get out!” Chris B exclaimed.
“Looks like there's only one thing for it. We'll have to resign ourselves to our fate, create a new colony here and populate it.” Chris J said.
“In a word…NO.” Hannah said.
Chris looked upset.
“Hey, look…” Hannah noticed something on the floor and knelt down. It was a ridge on the floor of the elevator in the shape of a large square (no, it wasn't the edge of the elevator, Hannah's not that stupid). She saw a small discreet handle on it and lifted it up. Tugging hard whilst everyone stood around and watched with curiosity, the flap gave way and it came undone; the piece of floor coming up to reveal a hole to jump down.
“That's a long way down.” Muttered Chris B, trying to make out just how far down the elevator shaft went.
“I'm afraid of heights.” Jess squeaked.
“No you're not!” Hannah disagreed, having known Jess for a good length of time and having encountered this fact before.
“I am now.” Jess admitted.
“Hmm.” Hannah didn't believe her. “Well, this is the only way down, so I suggest we all climb down the wire…” Hannah pointed at the solitary thin wire holding up the lift.
“Or we could use that…” Chris J pointed to a sturdy ladder on the wall in the elevator shaft.
“Alright, smartarse, let's do it your way…” Hannah lowered herself down the large square hole and grabbed a hold of the ladder simultaneously letting go of the lift. She looked back at the slightly perturbed faces staring out of the lift down at her. “Well come on then!”

“I don't wanna!” Jess said stubbornly.
“GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW OR I'LL CUT KURT'S TAIL OFF!” Hannah yelled.
“NOOOOOO!”
Jess leapt down the hole.

“Can you see any way out yet?” Chris J asked from the top of the ladder.
“Er…no.” Hannah, who was furthest down, looked down into the blackness.
“Well, there must be a way out soon…” Jess muttered. “Oh! Oh! I appear to be losing my footing!” Jess let go of the ladder completely and fell, only to be caught by Kurt's tail for the 7th time. “Wheeee!”
“Ok, you're taking the piss now, J – what if he misses?!” Hannah asked.
“Oh, he won't.” Jess said. “Wheeeee!”
Kurt looked a little upset at being used for tail-related experiences only.
Jess clambered up over Kurt back up to her position above him on the ladder.
This time, a little more subtly, she commented first. “Ooh…these railings are slippery…” Then without further ado, fell again.
Yet this time, Kurt, panicked into thinking he should hold onto the bars tighter to stop himself from slipping, had his tail tight around a rail for extra support.
ARRRRRRR!” Jess, completely shocked, fell down past them and landed with a thump somewhere below them.
“Oh Christ!” Hannah looked down. “MARCO!!?”
A short silence followed but then a shaken but not stirred reply of “POLO!” came back.
“I'm assuming it's not much further down, then.” Chris B said from further up the ladder, a little worried as to what state his employer had literally landed herself in.
Kurt disappeared with a soft 'BAMF!' that made everyone jump. Everyone listened as they descended the few remaining metres of the ladder to Jess and Kurt.
“I'm sorry again, ja!?”

“That's FINE.” Jess rubbed her sore head and blinked a little to clear her double vision.
Hannah hopped off the ladder and onto the floor.
“Woah. We climbed a long way down.” She observed.
“Are you SURE you didn't pass any doors or openings on the way down?” Chris B asked Hannah, also placing his feet on solid ground.
“Definitely.” Hannah said.
“It's just there don't seem to be any doors down HERE.” Chris pointed out. They all looked around and saw he was right.
“Oh, well, there's only one thing for it-“ started Chris J.
NO!” Hannah yelled at him. “I'm NOT repopulating the bottom of this lift shaft with you!” She looked around. “Especially with THEM here!” She indicated Jess, Chris B and Kurt.
“Er…guys?” Kurt started, looking up.
What?” Asked Chris J, pissed off.
“Look.” Everyone followed his gaze to see the lift coming down towards them.
“Oh, cack.”
