Swanscombe Tigers Away League

Welcome to the start of the new season for the new Istead Colts Under 14's. Our opening game of the season was against Swanscombe Tigers. We started the match new and a fresh from the poor form last season. We began well keeping it at a stalemate for the first 20 mins. Swanscombe won a corner and crossed it in, Number 9 got up to header it and out of nowhere Andrew Elliott at the back post jumps up and clears the ball off the line with a bicycle kick. At hlf time the score was 2-0 which was an improvement from last seasons result. We went out into the second half thinking about leeting no more goals in the back of the net. Mark Robson played a superb ball through to set up Thomas Brooker for a goal. it was 6-1 to swanscombe and they were on the attack again. They chip our keeper and Lewis Deakin jumped up the hand ball it and give away a penalty, which they had noproblem scoring. The final score Swanscobe Tigers 7-1 Istead Colts. League position:7th Man of the match: Lewis Deakin and Mark Robson.

Babylon Home League

So the first game being an improvement from last season we will look to beeter this game aswell. We have our first game at home this season with a new pitch and a new kit. We began strong and started to put the pressure on. They also gave us a scare and it was an evenly balanced match. 0-0 at half time and the weather changed to rain as we went out into the second half. And the weather was an advantage to us as Thomas Brooker chips the kepper and scores again. But we were caught napping as they equiliased seconds after. Things went from bad to worse as they scored 2 more to give them a 3-1 lead. The final score Istead Colts 1-3 Babylon. League position:8th Man of the match: Jack Spencer.

Northfleet Eagles Away Cup

Our second away match of the season is against mid-table side Northfleet Eagles. The game began and we only had 10 players, but things went from bad to worse when Richard King refused to play because his shirt was to big. So at half time the score was 3-0 and we were losing, but Richard finally joined in the match to help us out. The second half began and we should have scored a goal, but we didn't and the final score was 10-0. League position 8th Man of the Match: Mark Robson

Real Gima Home League

So today we entertained Real Gima at home who last season we gave a brave fight against with only 8 men. We were hoping we could do the same here today. The match began and we started quite well, but it wasn't long until Real Gima opened the scoring. At half time the score was 6-0 and we were doing worse with more people. We went back out there with a hope not much of a hope, but a hope. They scored a goal, but thanks to some great defending and some great saves from Lewis Deakin we finished the match with some dignity as it finished 7-0. League position 8th Man of the Match: Lewis Deakin.
2nd November 2003
Guru Nanak Home League

Today we were knew our oppenents were tough, but we can beat them. We had a minute of silence to remember goalkeeper for both Istead and Guru Jason Gill. We began the match and Goals came thick and fast as Guru Nanak put alot of their shots away. Andrew Elliott made a save off the line, but it already went off for a goal kick from the corner. Half time came and we were losing 4-0. The second half began quite lively where Mark Jones and Thomas Brooker had two very good chances, but didn't put them away. Andrew Elliott was once again there to save the day and he did once more in the match to save it 3 times. But that wasn't enough to stop more goals coming as we lost 7-0. League position 8th Man of the Match: Lewis Deakin
