| Welcome to ISD. What is ISD?? ISD is the International Society of Drunks. It is people from around the world who want to enjoy life to it's fullest. What started out as a joke has turned into a great idea. What we would like to see happen is to unite all travelers who enjoy life. |
| Our goal is to help travelers enjoy their journey to the fullest. The ISD website will have info on where to go, places to stay, and what to do around the world...and great party hostels to stay in. The purpose of ISD is to help travelers enjoy and save money on their journey. Members will share information about their area and possibly provide accomodations for other members. |
| Okay, so we all love the ISD idea, but we're eventually going to try and get business sponsors after we open the main website up. There's a rumor going around that there are people around the world who don't drink beer!!! So we're going to create a main site called International Nomads, or something of the like... ISD will be our sub-page. We're doing a $50 contest for whoever can come up with the best logo for our two websites. The runner-ups will be posted on this website soon and we'll hold a poll where everybody can vote on the best logos. The ISD logo can be as crazy as possible, but International Nomads should be as "professional" as a drunk can get... The winner will be notified by seeing their logos appear on the actual website by January 1st, if we're sober enough. |

| Basically, the common idea of the two sites (ISD and Internation Nomads) will be cheap advertising for sponsors, providing our members with discounts on accomodations at hostels, bars, and other crap (as that is the best word we can think of at the time) related to travelling. We would like to offer everything from guide books, to selling members own music CDs, letting members have their own personal journal space on the site, and email services. |
| Right now, we're looking for "field writers" for our site. If you have any really interesting (drunken preferrably) travel stories, pictures, and the like, please submit them to us at: [email protected]. We want to take ISD to Burning Man in the future. As we don't really know much about it, we would love to hear about it if you've been. Septemeber 9th will be our 4th annual International Get-Drunk Day. We want to have as many countries participate as possible. At 8 PM Greenwich time we will have the world's largest cheers! If you're the unfortunate one who has to be at work, school, jail, or somewhere else you can't drink (at least not legally), break the monotony and yell out "Cheers!!!" |
