As Preston and I are on apparently very low budgets at the moment, it will probably take a while before we get our official dot.com... So please bear (bare?) with us for the while...and tell everybody about this. It's the best idea ever... :-) Our 1st trip.............. We decided to take ISD on the road, and left Halloween day from San Diego, CA...to end up...somehow...miraculously...on the eastern shores of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. THE FOLLOWING IS A COMPILATION OF ALL OF OUR JOURNALS ON THE TRIP FROM SAN DIEGO TO FORT LAUDERDALE... __________________________________________________ "We left San Diego because I invited them, they voted me to drive." -- Preston -- "so that the rest of us could drink on the road" -- the rest of us. Sorry that this log may not make sense right now. "We are sleep deprived, delerious, & sober drunks" -- Preston. Oct. 31st, 2003 Halloween Day (Day 1) We (Preston, Buddy, Jeremy, Trevor, Doyle, Morgan, Wilson the albino pumpkin, & Piglet) set off on our journey at approx. 14:00. We had said our goodbyes and drove off. It was 16:00 before we stopped because Buddy had to piss. He was in the boot (which was treated as 1st Class; middle seat as Economy; Shotgun as DJ) & had no ashtray so he drank a full bottle of Gatorade just to use it as an ashtray. Buddy was a local bum, in Pacific Beach, San Diego, that we had adopted in September. We provided him with beer; He provided us with laughter, especially after he was given a mohawk, leaving his full sideburns. Buddy, to me (I'm Jeremy, by the way), looks like a child molester. Even though I feel like I've gotten to know him fairly well, I would never, ever, let him near my offspring...or my offspring near his offspring for that matter. Anyway, Buddy's piss-stop made us $45 richer because we had ended up at the Golden Acorn Casino, which famed itself as the "luckiest place on Earth." Buddy and Trevor played the slots. Buddy won $35; Trevor won $10. Back on the road again, our second stop in Yuma, AZ brought on the drinking binge. We started off with 18 MGDs. I could name every stop on the journey, but I'll choose to name only the most important. The 4th stop was in Phoenix. 54 beers consumed between 5 people at the time, it was a good stop. Hooters waitresses greeted us with open arms, I think. Preston takes time off to visit, soberly, with his family. Day 2 On the road again, and 66 beers later, we pass through the Immigration Checkpoint just outside of Sierra Blanca, east of El Paso. Our Ford Explorer consisted of 2 criminals, 2 fugitives, an illegal resident, and Buddy. Buddy, with looks to be criminally insane, was actually the only legal one out of all of us -- Even though he is a convicted felon with a charge of having 65 lbs. of marijuana on his person. Buddy actually had to be smuggled through the Checkpoint because he was in the cargo space of the Explorer. Fuddrucker's in San Antonio greeted us with massive burgers, welcoming sewage facilities, & a pitcher of Budweiser. Over 22 lbs. of beer later, we find ourselves stumbling out of the car onto New Orleans ground. MORE TO COME... EVENTUALLY. ISD Road Trip _____________________________________________________ Basically it was a 5 day drinking binge that took a sour turn in New Orleans...and Doyle saved the day... The following is what we drank on the road from San Diego to Ft. Lauderdale. Beers (Budweisers?), 6 16oz. Budweisers No one can remember after that -- Jail happened for 4 out of 6 of us. ____________________ :-p ________ It's been a few weeks and Morgan has made it to Ft. Lauderdale. If anybody happens to run into Buddy, (maybe somewhere between a cell in the OPP to San Diego ((he can't be missed)) let us know. Preston, Barbara, and I bicycled down to Key West on Thanksgiving Day and came back a week later... more to come on that later... too tired to fuckin type at the moment...so again....bear with us.... Cheers.
