About Quizzing
Bible Quizzing is similar to team sports like basketball because it is competitive and team-based, but unlike them because it is mostly mental and is based on the Bible. The main reason most people want to quiz is to learn about God's word, which brings about knowing God better. But, in addition to this, it is great fun and allows you to meet lots of other people. Perhaps you find it easy to study the Bible and perhaps you don't—either way Bible Quizzing can help you. If you don't find studying the Bible easy, Bible Quizzing could be a fun way to get an accountable study going. If you do, or don't, memorizing the Bible through Bible Quizzing can help you to notice all kinds of things throughout the Bible, which you miss when simply reading it. Here's what the local TFC Bible Quizzing website says about the program:

the name "Bible Quizzing"may not sound like much fun to your average
Teenager, don't tell anyone in the program that. They have already
found out that the best way to describe Bible quizzing is with
the word 'FUN!' They know the happiness of building close friendships
with other quizzers on their team, people they may not have known
before the season began. They know the exitement of hanging on
the edge of their chair, every muscle tensed and ready to spring
when they hear the first words of the question. And they know
the thrill of the year end Regional Tournament at a camp in another
town. Teens in Bible quizzing know the joy of having true friends
who are there for you when life gets hard. Someone to pray with
you, and to help you talk through the hard times that life inevitably
brings. Imagine the impact that God's Word would have upon a teenager
who memorizes dozens of verses each year, often times memorizing
whole chapters at a time. God promises us that His Word will not
return void. The benefits that a person gains from memorizing
scripture will last a life time. The Holy Spirit will use those
verses to lead us in righteous paths for the rest of our days.
Because God's Word is powerful, Bible quizzers tend to become
the spiritual leaders among their peers."

Though Bible Quizzing does not require a massive amount of time spent (You can expect about 10 minutes of daily practice, 1-2 hour weekly practices, several hour monthly tournaments, and a weekend regionals trip, which is optional), it does require diligence in actually getting yourself to study daily. If you are interested in quizzing, but don't think you have enough time, I encourage you to rethink youre priorities. Rather than thinking "I'm doing school, track, gymnastics, and all this other stuff—How could I possibly add somthing more?," you might want to think "My relationship with God is the #1 priority in my life... How can I work this in."
