Pu'uwai (Dorothy)
Pu'uwai has been in love with Hawai'i since visiting the islands of Maui, Kaua'i and Hawai'i (The Big Island). She began dancing in high school, and has since studied musical theatre, jazz, country-western, ballroom (especially tango!), Indian, and belly dance. She has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance and Production at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, as well as a Secondary Teaching Certification in Theatre at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. She is currently the Macy's Central & South Texas Regional Shortage Manager. Pu'uwai has been studying hula with Ka'ua and the Island Rhythms Hula Company since January 2005, and she hopes to pursue the diverse mix of Hawaiian dance and culture as long as she can move her hips! |
