GRIEF PAGE 3
Four Candles For You Poem and Ritual
This is a poem first and foremost but it can be used as a ritual to honour your loved one, as either part of the Funeral Service itself or simply at home when you need to do it.
All you need is four white candles (White Candles for Remembrance).

Four Candles for You
(Light first candle now).
The first candle represents our grief.
The pain of losing you is intense.
It reminds us of the depth of our love for you.

(Light second candle now).
The second candle represents our courage.
To confront our sorrow, to comfort each other,
To change our lives..

(Light third candle now).
The third candle we light in your memory.
For the times we laughed, the times we cried,
The times we were angry with each other,
The silly things we did,
The caring and joy you gave us.

(Light fourth candle now).
This fourth candle we light for our love.
We light this candle that your light will always shine.
A light of Remembrance with family & friends.

We cherish the special place in our hearts
That will always be reserved for you.
We thankyou for the gift your living bought to each of us.
We love you.
We will remember y
ou.
Light a Candle

Light a candle for those we mourn.
Into a new life they will be born.
Do not look for them at the gravesite.
They are somewhere else radiating their beautiful light.
They have gone to a new world where there is no darkness, no pain
Their light and essence will always remain.
Light a candle for those who have left this mortal place.
They are free to travel through time and space.
When we think of them, they are near.
When we sit in a beautiful garden, their voices we hear.
When we listen to music or a symphony
We close our eyes, their faces we see.
Light a candle for they have not really gone.
With each flickering flame, in your heart they will always belong.
You are gone but not forgotten, your light shines on in me.
The light from these candles will remind me of you for all eternity..
