My triathlon page

I became involved in the sport of triathlon during the spring of  98.  A friend had twisted my arm to do a 5K race for some charity, after the race my wife announced her desire to be divorced.  After a year of marriage and 3 years of cohabitation I had become a massive couch potato~200lbs.  After the race someone had left a flyer for the San Antonio Triathlon to be held at Guadalupe State Park.  The distances seemed reasonable 1000 yards downstream, 18 miles on the bike, 5K run.  I trained for the next month and a half and finished, not very pretty but finished. Since then I have done twenty+ triathlons.  I am not very fast and probably can only hope to be a middle of the pack finisher, but the races keep me focused on my fitness goals. The open water swims at Boerne lake do wonders for my afterwork mental health.
Team Alamo the San Antonio Area Multisport Association has helped me tremendously in acheiving my goals. I was the club secretary for '00. In '02 I moved out to b.f.e. on fringes of Houston &  completed my USAT Level 1 coaching certification in self-defence. I've returned to civilization of the Austin-San Antonio Area. Drop me an email if you think you may have a triathlon in your future!

In the transition area with my bike before the '00 Corpus Christi triathlon.  The wave swells were about 4 feet deep, not my favorite swim, but after Corpus every other swim seems easy
Boerne Lake a pastoral scene compared to Corpus
