In early January 2003, with the aid of Hartsfields Jon Desilva, Is Grace Enough came to be. With front man Jon OCallaghan leading the way, backed up by Simon Baldwin (guitar, vocals), Scott Jardine (guitar), Ryan McLaughlin (bass) and Will Plummer (drums) the band quickly emerged into the Ottawa Punk/Hardcore scene. With the help of Nick DC and loving fans the bands first shows were huge, playing with bands like Slick Shoes (Tooth & Nail Recs), Death by Stereo (Epitaph Recs), Downway (Sessions Recs) and silverstein (Victory Recs). With their new found success, in the Spring (2003) the band decided to go into the studio (Addictive Sound) and record a 3 song demo. The demo was good but the band was still growing and the bands sound continued to evolve.

In the summer of 2003 the band began to face problems. With the conflicts of interest, IGE went on to play its last show with Senses Fail (DriveThru Recs) and Boys Night Out (Ferret Music) before it went on hiatus. After a month and the replacement of two band members the band came back with full force. With the new members Tom Olesinski (Set You Ablaze) and Ryan Berthiaume (Rubbish), Is Grace Enough took on a new more technical sound. After only a couple weeks of practice the reformed band made its unprepared debut at the most recent of the alexisonfire (Equal Visions) shows. Thanks to Shawn Scallen (234-Punx) and Nick DC (Asymmetric Productions), IGE continued to play high-status shows in the capital city alongside such acts as Planes Mistaken for Stars (No Idea Recs), Raised Fist (Epitaph Recs), Boys Night Out (Ferret Music), and Fear Before the March of Flames (Equal Visions), and out of town alongside the End (Relapse Recs).

With the new and improve sound and set list the band thought it would be best to hit up the studio at Addictive Sound again, creating a sickening 25 minute five track EP. With guest vocals from hartsfields Eric Gilmore, and Cicadas Mitchell Ethier the band is proud of their latest efforts as it represents some of their greatest work. Two of the tracks are displayed on http://www.purevolume.com/IsGraceEnough.

In July (2004) IGE and posthardcore band the Awkward Picture, did a cross Quebec tour with some good times. The band is currently trying to break out of Ottawa and continues to play out of town shows. With the release of the new album, IGE hopes to promote it to the fullest by touring in the summer/fall (2004).

Is Grace Enoughs brand music consists of heavy breakdowns, technical guitar riffs, strong vocals and powerful lyrics. Their melodic hardcore gives both a catchy and emotional sound thats compiled into an intense performance that needs to be experienced.
