When the doggies are good, they are virtually unbeatable, but when they're bad they're awful. They reverted back to handballing and going along the boundary line. This caused many turnovers, ball ups and throw ins, which was extremely frustrating to watch.
Port Adelaide dominated the first quarter with about 16 entries into their forward 50 to the bulldogs, 7. Luckily for the bulldogs, the margin was only 3 goals and they were still in the game.
In the second quarter, the dogs got within 7 points at one stage, but misses by Brown, Johnson and Romero cost the team dearly as port kicked away again to lead by 5 goals at half time.
In the last half the margin ranged from about 4 goals to 7. The bulldogs threatened a couple of times but never really came close.
So, the bulldogs really have made it hard for themselves to make the finals. Certainly, the dogs will have to play a hell of a lot better if they are going to beat Carlton next week.
