| Woohoo. The invitations have arrived! That and a box of chocolates. Thanks Felix, Karin and Harold. Mom sent out about 100 today. Once we get all the names and addresses sorted out the rest should be out by next week. No Kate. You gotta wait to get yours in the mail. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The invitations have been sent out. I was surprised to see that it only took 1 day within Vancouver and a few days longer to Germany. I have already recieved replies. A little over 2 months to go and it is starting to feel more real. The spin mode may start after I get back from Kootenay Castle. I get to bottle our wine then too. Come to think of it, that wouldn't be such a bad time to go to a cabin or camping for a weekend just to get away from it all. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| "OH, CALL IT BY SOME BETTER NAME" Oh call it by some better name, For friendship sounds too cold, While Love is now a wordly flame, Whose shrine must be of gold; And Passion, like the sun at noon, That burns o'er all he sees Awhile as warm, will set as soon Then, call it none of these. Imagine something purer far, More free from stain of clay Than Friendship, Love, or Passion are, Yet human still as they: And if thy lip, for love like this, No mortal word can frame, Go, ask of angels what it is, And call it by that name! Thomas Moore (1779-1852) |

| I have been asked a few times about the term handfasting. It is an old celtic wedding tradition lasting a year and a day at which point a second and more permanent one is done if the couple decides to remain together.Ours will be the more permanent one. There are a lot of sites available on the net and I have picked just one to give you an impression. Each site will have a different ceremony. This site describes a little bit about the history of handfasting and an example of one. Each couple creates a handfasting to suit themselves, as will we. |

| We just got back from Kootenay Castle. It was quite an experience. I rode back with the 671st and I quickly learnt what they mean to Ward and why he comes home happy. In German there is a saying that if you leave something at a friend's house it means that you have to go back for another visit. Guys....I can't find my cookie jar anywhere. On another note, the wedding is less than 8 weeks away. Eek. Lots of little last minute details to arrange. I hope that I don't forget anything. |

| Well, the wines are bottled, the mead is fermenting and people are starting to RSVP. Alexa will be here in 6 weeks to help me out with last minute details. The location for the honeymoon hasn't been decided yet. We have narrowed it down to Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic or the Maldives. I am looking more for the spa and pamper me routine with adventure, sun and sand mixed in. Diving off the front porch into crystal blue water, followed by a daily massage couldn't be too much to ask for? Oh yes. Dancing absolutely has to fit in there as well. We won't be leaving right after the wedding. I will still have friends here from Germany and we are planning on a short trip to Ft Lewis in Nov. Hmmm. Almost sounds like the honeymoon is planned around the army. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| We have started the honeymoon planning. Narrowed our search down to less than 10 or so places. One thing that I have realized through the process of planning. Stay away from the timelines that are printed in the magazines. Now I see how the meek and mild can turn into Bridezilla. I know how to plan a party and really don't like to fret because some person says that I am way behind the suggested timeline in deciding on my cake or dress or....They had me going for a few weeks. Phew, got over that hurdle. I have exactly 40 days to go and all that is missing are the small details, confidence in our wet weather plan and that my hair will obey for a day. I can pray for dryness, but I think that only hairspray short of crazy glue will be able to make my hair do the unnatural and hold in place. Actually things are falling into place. The cake tray will be picked up this weekend, hairdresser appointments are made, I intend to have a timetable and programme done in the next few days and then relax for the month of Oct. Don't laugh :) The impossible CAN happen. My mom has been really helpful through this and has never insisted on anything. It has always been "What do you want me to do and how would you like me to do it?" Too cool! |

| Ward has actually had our marriage license for the past few weeks. He even booked our honeymoon today. It looks like we are going to Varadero, Cuba. Vamos a la playa. Dos cervesas por favor. Grade 8 Spanish, here I come. I even have a design for my ring and will start to make it on Sun. It has taken me long enough to come up with something I like and find the stones for it! In the process I found a new favourite stone that just happens to be more expensive than a diamond. Bad, or good thing (depending who's buying) is that I can't remember the name of it. Ward's Ring has been sitting gathering dust for a while now. He hasn't seen it yet. We have also decided to include more of celtic handfasting tradition in our ceremony. This does mean a bit of participation from our friends. Nothing kinky, I promise. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
