I am currently living in Carl Junction, Missouri (just outside of Joplin) with my fiance, Matt, and our dogs, Mollie and Sandy. I am a fourth-grade teacher at Jasper Elementary School in Jasper, MO., about 30 min. northeast of Joplin.

(In the picture to the left, I'm the chick on the right (in case you couldn't tell). The other person in the picture is my lovely Uncle Jerry. : )

While you're here....

I love baseball. It's my passion, and it has been for as long as I can remember. My favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals, but I have a natural love for my hometown Kansas City Royals, despite their penchant for sucking royally. My favorite players are Mike Piazza, Scott Rolen, and Albert Pujols.

I also really like music. My musical favorites include John Mayer, Pete Yorn, Dave Matthews Band, Fleetwood Mac, Sarah McLachlan, and Alanis Morissette. I listen to just about every musical genre, but my favorites are folksy/acoustic-type rock and 70's and 80's stuff. However, I find sports radio to be quite enjoyable, especially on the long drives between Joplin and Jasper.

I have two parental units, Pookie and Sluggo, that live in Lee's Summit. I'm the first member of my family to leave the "nest" of Kansas CIty. :)

I've got a super fiance named Matthew. He's awesome. He's a product design engineer for Eagle-Picher.

My bestest friend in the whole wide world is Sarah; we've been best friends since April 21, 1990. She's fantabulous. I have a bunch of other terrific friends (i.e. Randi, Sarah, Amanda, Salley, et al) that mean a lot to me and have helped me through various crises, for which I am eternally grateful. You know who you are. : )
