For years now, we have been living with the thought that the ocean is infinite, and our actions would not affect it. But now, we are slowly starting to face the consequences. It is amazing that Man, so proud and boastful, will soon regret their actions as they stare into the ocean, only to see that one day, what is before them would soon cease to exsist.
An example would be the great barriar reef. So beautiful as it is, it would soon cease to exsist in 19 years time. This is because our actions has caused global warming to create warmer and more acidic seas. However, that is not the biggest problem. The sea creatures will suffer more.
They will lose their habitat, and the temperature of the seas wil change drastically, and if the sea creatures are unable to adept to the changes, they will soon die and the marine diversity will soon shirnk to no more than a handful of sea creatures surviving.
At the same time, we are becoming highly dependant on seafood, and this causes an imbalance in the foodchain. This imbalance might cause certain sea creatures to thrive, while others will deplete to extinction.
Thus, it is important to see that everything we do affects their survival, whether directly or indirectly.
