Unlock Battle Mode
To unlocked Battle Mode, save after leaving the city of Vale. Then, a new option will appear on the options menu.
Return to the Sanctum you visited last
At the file load screen, press and hold L - Start - Select before loading the file. When the file is loaded, Isaac and company will be inside the Sanctum you visited last.
Bad Ending
During the conversation following the clearing of Sol Sanctum, the Great Healer will ask for your decision as to whether you feel up to the burden of saving the world. Say 'No.' and he will warn you that you cannot take back your decision after leaving the village. Exit the building. Congratulations, you've completed Golden Sun, by destroying Weyard.
Name All Party Members Plus Other NPCs
While Naming Robin/Isaac, press Select 3 times. You will hear a ting and then will be able to name Garet, Mia, and Ivan.
To name Felix, Jenna, and Sheba, press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, and Select while naming Mia. You will hear another ting and will then be able to name those NPCs when you are through with Mia.
Crossbone Isle
When you travel through the Suhalla Desert, you'll come into contact with various monsters that can create tornados on screen. If you explore all of the desert, you'll eventually come across a giant pink tornado. However, don't use the Douse Psynergy to get rid of it. Instead, let the tornado pick you up and send you flying. You'll land on Crossbone Isle, a place that can't be found on the world map, and offers rare items and a tough boss.
Unlimited Sol Sanctum Training
While in Sol Sanctum, you can usually encounter monsters until you reach level 5. Here is a way to go beyond that border. Make sure Jenna is at level 1. While in battle with a monster, let Jenna die. Do not revive her. Isaac and Garet can now train to any level you want.
Send option
After finishing the game once, at the title screen, hold the R button and Left on the D-pad, then press start. A new option will appear on the right called 'Send''. This allows you to transfer your clear data to a Golden Sun: The Lost Age cartridge by either a password, or by using a GBA link cable.
Skip long conversations
Hold down B to see the conversation swiftly go by. No more pounding the A button.
Get the Kikuichimonji
Here is a full-proof way to get the Kikuichimonji, a very powerful sword. Before starting things off, do whatever you need to do so that Mia attacks 3rd (after Ivan and Isaac), and Garet last (after Ivan, Isaac and Mia), but he must still be faster than the Fenrir and Ice Gargoyle. Then, head for the top floors of the Venus Lighthouse. When you reach the first room exiting the Tunnel Ruins and entering the upper Venus Lighthouse (the room with the psycrystal), save and close your game. Then open it up again. Walk around without leaving the room until you enter a fight. It will be a Fenrir and a Ice Gargoyle. You should attack first, if not, restart your game and try again.
For the first round, you must use attacks that will weaken them, but not kill the Fenrir. At level 40, and I used Storm Ray, Earthquake, Glacier and Flare Wall. If the Ice Gargoyle dies, it doesn't matter, but if the Fenrir dies, reset your gameboy and try again.
For this second round, make Ivan and Isaac defend, make Mia use Wish (or Wish Well or Pure Wish) and make Garet unleash Torch on the Fenrir. If you weakened it enough, it will die. If it doesn't, again, reset your gameboy and try again. If the Ice Gargoyle is still alive, kill it off any way you want.
When the battle ends, you will receive the Kikuichimonji!
More exp. in battle
Use a certain type of dijjin on a monster as a finishing hit that it is weak against to have a greater chance of gaining a rare item and more exp.
Power Bread in Vale
When you revisit Vale, there are clumps of vines behind the weapons and armory shop. One of them leads to a cave with a power bread.
Cookie in Altins Peak
After you get the lifting gem go back to where you fought the second living statue. You should be able to climb down and lift a boulder. Go into the cave and get the Cookie.
Main Menu Sound
Press select 3 times at the main menu to hear the same sound that is played when the Nintendo logo appears when you first turn on the game.
