Updated October 22, 2004
Faulina de Foxworth Cartier
Faulina will be 8 years old in sping 2005. She is a German Shepard/Collie mix. She was rescued from the Michigan Humane Society in Novermber 1997. She had lived there for two weeks, which is the max time usually alotted to keep homeless animals.

Faulina loves Becky (her momma) very much. She is protective of her family and loved by many people! And when she speaks she says, "Roo roo! Roo roo!" She's a real sweetheart.
Shauni
Shauni is around 6 months old. She was rescued from having to live outside. She can be wild thing, but she loves her current mommy. Becky! :) She has the same markings as Jasmine, a black calico. She has very little white on her. But she is loved in our home. :)
Corkey
Corkey is doing very well. She has a new mommy, as of October 2004 and she's very happy there. Despite her behavioral problems against all other people, she's adjusting well to her new home. She is the only bird there and will be spoiled rotten! She's been wanting that for YEARS!
Congratulations Corkey!
Mustang & Smokey
Mustang (left) was received from Becky's best friend Jenny, (who know has Corkey). He is probably around 6 years old.
Smokey (right) was received from Becky's other best friend Jamie. Smokey was estimated to be about 6 years old and now could be around
13 years old. Smokey is a true darlin sweetheart. :)
Cinci! (In loving memory)
Cincinnati died July 2004. She was a sweetheart and she survived at least two or three strokes in 2003. She has another stroke in the summer of 2004 before she died. But, she didn't die alone, Tootsie was there by her side and was a true friend to her. :)
We love our pets!
Tootsie  Tweeter
She is also a Cinnamon Pearl like Cinci. . We brought her home January 2003. She's about 8 months old now. When her old tail feathers fall out, a new, long tail should grow in!

Her Story

Told by Becky
My now Mother-in-Law took me to a pet place here in S.C. As I was browsing, I found their few birds. They had 4 or 5 budgies and one cockatiel. As I looked, there she was, her right foot deformed. She only stayed on the bottom of her cage and would hardly respond to any advances I made to her. I felt such pity for her. I felt hopeless to do anything. Then again, Juddzee and I had gone there for something a couple days later. Seeing her again, I felt even more pity. After dinner that evening, I begged and pleated to Juddzee to take her. He didn't know where he would put her. I reasoned that he was moving into our cabin anyway, he could care for her there. "How will we pay for her?" he asked me. I knew we could find a way. I just felt deeply within my heart that she was a special bird that needed a special home with someone who really cares about her.
I stayed one more day in S.C. before going back to Michigan. That Monday morning, we called the pet store and they still had her. They were selling her for $40 because of her deformed foot. Young cockatiels usually go for $70-$100. We bought her a cage from Wal-mart and rushed over to the pet store. We happily bought her. The man we bought her from wanted her to have a good home and we assured him it would be done. I dropped Juddzee off at work and took Tootsie home with me and set her up in her new cage.

She was very quiet with me and still wouldn't respond. It was as if she didn't like me. She might've just been scared. Well, after I back in MI, Juddzee told me of her amazing progress! She was perching, coming out to him and eventually was chirping and singing! She finally came alive and she's even more alive today. :) She loves to mimic the birds outside and now mimics Mustang, Smokey, and Corkey too. She's a very happy bird. She loves her daddy and will visit with company also. She's a pleasure to have in our home. :)

Tootsie now looks like a grey cockatile, just like Mustang and Smokey. (New pic will be posted ASAP)
