Designer of parts used in next generation Boston Whaler boats and of equipment for their assembly utilizing UGS NX and AutoCAD. Responsibilities included designing lifting fixtures for use in the assembly of large boat components, designing dollies for transport and manufacture of unique parts and redesigning a variety of boat components for model year updates.

Worked with operators to find efficient processes for the assembly of black box and power supply systems used on Apache TADS (Target Acquisition Designation Systems). Created detailed manufacturing process plans for the assembly of Black Box systems.

Photolithography Stage Assembly Drafting. Drafted various machined and welded components used on a high speed photolithography stage using I-DEAS. Solved problems regarding part fit and manufacturability.
Video Game Controller Design. Modeled conceptual design of a plastic video game controller to be used by Big Screen Gaming utilizing SolidWorks. Detailed controller design to increase rigidity and to include mounting features for hardware.
Mars Science Laboratory Drafting. Drafted ground support equipment used for the assembly of the Mars Science Laboratory’s Robotic Arm using SolidWorks. Detailed models of the ground support equipment to improve machinability.
Orion Launch Abort System (LAS) Design and Drafting Support. Created conceptual and detailed designs of parts used in Ground Support Equipment for the LAS’s canard mechanism. Drafted a variety of components used in the LAS project including canard mechanism parts and various ground support equipment using I-DEAS. Drafted and modified the designs of raceway panels and nose cones used on the LAS.
Human Powered Vehicle Project. Completed conceptual and detailed design of a recumbent style human powered vehicle using Pro/ENGINEER. Performed static stress analysis of HPV frame utilizing I-DEAS and manufactured full prototype for an ASME competition.
Fishing System for Quadriplegics. Led team of engineering students in the design of a “Sip and Puff” momentary switch controlled fishing system to be used by quadriplegics. Created detailed model of fishing system using Pro/ENGINEER and manufactured prototype for an ASME competition.
Bulk Transporter Robot. Created conceptual and detailed design of robot that could climb stairs and transport loads of rice from a staging area to a delivery area utilizing Pro/ENGINEER for an ASME competition.
Kennedy Space Center Performance Metrics. Studied performance metrics of Kennedy Space Center’s YA-C Spaceport Technology Development Office. Researched external performance metrics used by government and private industries and studied industry practice such as Baldrige Award criteria and Six Sigma. Provided and implemented prototype metric set for gauging research and development.
