AFA speaks at Bray Celtic Supporters function
Anti Fascist Action was recently an invited speaker at a ‘Celtic Fans Against Racism and Fascism’ event organised by the Michael Dwyer Celtic Supporters’ Club from Bray, Co Wicklow.
The night was an evening of music from Ardoyne balladeer Paul McAdam and politics from various progressive and likeminded groups.
More than 150 Celtic fans were addressed by speakers from Travellers’ Rights groups, anti-racists and Anti-Fascist Action. The main speaker was Fr. Aidan Troy of Holy Cross school and the evening raised over 900 euros for the children from Ardoyne. The money was presented to him by Wes Charles from Bray Wanderers.
The AFA speaker outlined our policy of working in local communities to counter the influence of racist views. AFA’s ideas, magazines and t-shirts were well received by those present and a good night was had by all.
AFA would like to thank the Michael Dwyer CSC for the inviting us to speak and for the support and hospitality shown to the AFA members who attended.
