The AGM of the International Brigade Memorial Trust is being held in Belfast from 12-14 October 2007. On Saturday October 13th, Bob Doyle, International Brigades veteran will be unveiling a memorial at Writer�s Square, Belfast city centre. All anti-fascists are invited to attend. |
October 4th 2006 marks the 70th anniversary of the peoples uprising against Mosley's British Union of fascists (BUF) and state forces sent to protect them in Cable Street, Londons East End. The fascists and cops were on the receiving end of a severe hiding that effectively ended the BUF as a force on the streets and humiliated the police with trapped units actually surrendering to the victorious anti-fascists. To commemorate this famous victory an evening of Ska, Skinhead Reggae, Oi and Streetpunk will be held in Voodoo Lounge, Aaron Quay, Dublin on Saturday Sept 30th 2006. Bands billed to appear are Runnin'Riot, The Freebooters and Brigada Flores Magon. Saturday 3rd June saw a failed attempt by the cyber-nazi movement in Ireland, the so-called "Celtic Wolves", to emerge from behind their keyboards into the real world. AFA members rumbled their "national meeting" and the bewildered fash, far from being hostile witnesses, readily divulged their personal details to their interrogators before being chased back to their virtual Valhalla.
