Eostre (Ostara)- Around March 20th-24th. Eostre is a fertility holiday basically celebrating the idea that the God and Goddess are gonna do it. It is also the first day of spring, so since we are pagans we like spring, so we celebrate. For this holiday we paint eggs with pictures of bunnies, because those are two potent fertility symbols. Christians later ripped this practise off us to use for Easter and they practically stole the name Easter from Eostre. But oh well. What can you do.

Bealtaine- May 1st. Now this is the day where the God and Goddess actually do it. The God has flirted the Goddess has teased, they have gone through puberty and are out of highschool so most agree it is an okay time to have sex. Neo-pagans often have weddings on this day so maybe the God and Goddess get married first too. Their intercourse is in itself a sort of marriage, though it isn't legal, but they are mates for the rest of their lives. A fun thing to do is to wrap ribbon around a pole, a May Day Pole, and that is another old pagan thing taken from Beltane. Decorate things with red and white braided ribbons. If you are in a relationship get laid. This is the height of spring so be happy you are warm and well fed and that you can dance around like a weirdo.

Discoflux-  the 50th day of Discord,  May 3rd. I like to wear 70's clothing on this day and listen to the BeeGee's. Try to remember the 1970's and what they have done for our society and culture. How have we improved? What did we learn? Where are we going?

Syaday- 5th day of Confusion, May 31st.  SRI SYADAVAKTAVYA SYADASTI SYANNADASTI SYADASTI CAVAKTAVYASCA SYADASTI SYANNASTI SYADAVATAVYASCA SYADASTI SYANNASTI SYADAVAKTAVYASCA.

Midsummer- Summer Solstice, around June 20th-24th. The longest day of the year. It is symbolic of entering the daily life of an adult.  Between the ages of 30-50 not much happens besides raising your kids, so that is why only one day is used to celebrate this time in ones life. But remember it is the longest day.
Festival of Cerridwen- July 3rd. Cerridwen is a Goddess of inspiration and wisdom. She made the broth of Awen that gave Taliesin his great knowledge that let him be a bard. This is a modern festival and different people say it should be celebrated at different places. Zsuzsanna Budapest is the one who puts it on July 3rd. On this holiday celebrate all you have learned and all you want to learn. Ask her for guidance. She will offer guidance, but she may not hold your hand and tell you not to cry. She is a mother who teaches with tough love. She is also a sow Goddess so you may want to eat bacon in her honor. Though some say if you are trying to commune with an animal you shouldn't eat it. Oh well.

Confuflux- the 50th day of Confusion, July 15th.  Take the day off work, because it is a religious holiday. Other than that I don't know.

Lughnasadh- (Lammas) August 1st. Okay so the God and Goddess marry and when he is a married man he has the authority to become the harvest king. So they get the first fruits of the harvest, usually grain, and they all make bread and it is good. Some pagans say this is the day that Lugh the sacrifical King dies. Others say it is the day that he gets married and dont have weddings on Beltane and then everything takes longer to pan out.

Zaraday- 5th day of Bureacracy, August 12th. Zarathud was a hermit during the medieval times.  He discovered the 5 commandments and there is a neat story about him and the Sacred Chao. Pour a beer on the ground and say  to your neighbors that the beer is for Zarathud.

Mabon- Autumn Equinox, around September 20th or something like that, you know. This marks the point that the Goddess becomes a crone. I also sometimes celebrate this as the day the God dies. Then on Samhain is the funeral. But despite the Goddess being a Crone she is pregnant with the God's child, because she has it on Yule, and she got pregnant on Beltane. So what an odd pregnancy. She is pregnant for most of her life cycle, but it only lasts 8 months. Hmm maybe Spring Equinox should be the day they "do it." because then it would be 9 months when she had it at Yule. Anyway on Mabon the Goddess takes control of the throne. The God is either dead, or he has Alzhimer's disease and doesn't serve as a good king anymore. Or maybe he is away at war or on a quest that is foolish now for him to think he can do, or should do in his old age. So the Goddess is the ruler and she is pissed off.

Bureflux- 50th day of Bureacracy, September 26th. Watch a movie which pokes fun at politicians.
The Feast of Brewing- September 28th. Celebrates the making of alcoholic beverages. Honor gods and goddess of wine like Queen Mab, Uroica, Dyonisis (sp?), and whoever you deem apropriate.

Maladay- 5th day of the Aftermath, October 24th. Wear a 5 pointed star and walk through alleys until you find the word "Dumb" somewhere. At this spot you will find enlightenment.
Samhain again
. Wahoo. And that is that. Home
