With the name of Allah, The Merciful Benefactor, The Merciful Redeemer

As-salaamu Alaikum
Hello and welcome to my website "The Muslim Woman
Connection". I am happy to say I have taken my Shahada in April of
year 2000 at Alianca Islamica Center located in Manhattan, NY, which now it is
located in The Bronx. I have testified and have accepted Islam as my
religion and I bear witness that Allah is G'd and Muhammed is His
messenger. Allah is one, He has no partners nor does He have a son.
Before Islam, I had joined many different churches and was never fulfilled with
the answers to my many questions. One of my questions were "Why does
G'd, The Powerful, need a human son"? and "Why do I need to pray to
Jesus in order for G'd to accept my prayer?" which was a human being, a
prophet. I felt I was bothering people with my silly questions, "so
they seemed to think it was silly". I was so confused.
Furthermore, I was a huge fan of
Christmas and other many American
traditional pagan holidays, mainly for the glitter and fancy decorations.
Which my family still practice. I knew a co-worker that had explained to
me about all these pagan holidays. So, I had done research on the web and
found very disturbing news about it. I was so shocked and ashamed.
He then realized I had an open mind and exposed me to Islam. I have not
celebrated any pagan holidays including birthdays ever since September of year
1999. Praise be to Allah.
Well, soon after I did heavy research on Islam and read The Quran and it was like a breath of fresh air. Praise be to Allah (G'd). I learned about Kimar and the significance of it. At first I was scared, however, once I started wearing it more and more I felt protected and men didn't approach me or say disrespectful comments anymore. Also due to my dress code change. It is so easy to fall into what society and the media thinks is right, especially born and raised in America. Glory be to Allah (SWT). Well, now I have been Muslim for a year. I have two sons Andre 13 & Max 12 and a daughter Selena 5. I am actively exposing them to Islam with the help of Allah (SWT). My family seem to be supportive now than they were when I first spoke about Islam, however, they still do not understand many things like for example, Kimar. May Allah (SWT) have mercy and guide my family members to the right path, Islam. InshAllah.
Praise be to Allah. I have met some Muslim
Sisters, Alia and Sofia, so far my two closest friends. And I have
left behind old friends due to their lifestyles. This is why I put
together this website and called it "The Muslim Woman Connection" so
that sisters can have the opportunity to talk and maybe get together for halal
luncheon in the New York City or New Jersey area, InshAllah.
I am happy you took the time to read my testimony. I hope you found it to be interesting. If you would like to share comments and/or suggestions please feel free to click on>>>>Feedback or join us at "The Muslim Woman Connection Forum".
