ARMY
Equipment

The equipment used by the Army and other services had a lot of similarities, but had different modifications depending on the theater and when the equipment was made.  The most modified piece of equipment was the M4 Sherman tank.  Just at Normandy alone, there were amphibious versions, the hedge row cutters, dozer blades, and the mine clearing thrasher, just to name a few.

The next most versatile piece was the Jeep.  This workhorse was still in operation until the early 1990's when it was replaced by the current Humvee.  Uncomfortable, unsitely, yet it took any punishment and came out looking great.

Jeeps went everywhere.
M4 Sherman
Modified M4 Sherman . . . now a T24 rocket launcher.
Restored Half-track on display at Normandy.
Jeep in testing. No hill too steep?
Trucks moved everything on the ground, including the explosives.
A Howitzer firing. Notice the projectile in the top center.
Higgins landing craft
A never ending supply helped the Allies defeat the Axis all around the world.
Back packs were your home, pantry, etc.
Garand. In field modifications where rampant on this rifle.
