After the successful launch of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, regional seminars at various
locations have been planned to enable wider participation of IRAS officers in this historic event. Such
occasions, memorable as they are, will go a long way in strengthening the justifiable pride of each and
every IRAS officer.
The format of the seminar has been thoughtfully conceived to disseminate information on vital and
relevant topics of fiscal discipline and accounting road-map to meet the changing and challenging
environment. Besides, thought provoking issues, which are expected to stimulate interest and generate
healthy suggestions, will also be debated. Needless to emphasize that the aim of these professional
seminars, is to enhance professionalism and evolve an action plan for implementation.
The proposed seminar on ''Management of change in Indian Railways" scheduled to be held at
Chennai on 28th January, 2005 fits in admirably within the overall framework and will prove to be
beneficial and rewarding to the participants.
I congratulate Southern Railway for taking the initiative to bring out a souvenir to commemorate the
occasion and convey my best wishes for the success of the Seminar.
