DEFINITION/PHYSICAL TOPOLOGY OF STAR NETWORK :
All the computers and other devices on the network connect to a central device (hub/switch), thus forming a star.

LOGICAL TOPOLOY/ HOW DATA TRANSMIT :

• In a star network, data, instructions and informations transfer from one node to another node passes through hub/switch.
• If the network used hub, the signal will send to all nodes but only the intended recipient will accept the signal and the rest will ignore.
• If the network used switch, the signal will send directly to the intendent recipient.

ADVANTAGES :

1. If one device (pc/printer) fails, only that device is affected.
2. Easy to troubleshoot and isolate problem.

DISADVANTAGES :

1. The network will be malfunctioned if the single hub/switch break down.
2. Requires more cable than most of the other topologies.
