About Me & Philosophy
Philosophy Statement
Education is escorting teachers and students around the world to cooperate and collaborate knowledge and investigation. Teachers are moving away from the center of the classroom to facilitate and guide the discovery zones. Students are in control of their learning process and demanding the change in their current curricula. Knowledge and information should be related to the students’ interest and experience. Students should find a meaningful task for each activity to inspire them toward a higher level of cognitive and critical thinking.

The above scatter
shows the diagram of my philosophy assessment. In my daily classroom, I assist
my students in their life-long learning journey. I determine my philosophy of
education in order for me to implement and reflect the pedagogic practice, of a
better curriculum, that fits each student’s needs. I deploy instructional
technology to enhance 21st Century student’s center learning, and
empower critical thinking proficiency for a life-long learning.
I scored 6.2 in perennialism, the traditional and conservative methods in the teaching system. In comparison, I scored 6.8 in existentialisms, and 7.2 in experimentalism, the philosophies that hold an incessant revolution against the traditional system. I agree with the test that I am, to a certain point, an eclectic person. I do take what is good from each philosophy. In the same token, education system needs to blend between philosophies in order to choose the right decision that fits each student’s needs. Dr. Comb mentioned a few avenues in writing the educational philosophy, such as the purpose of education, the role of the student in education, the role of the teacher in education, the role of the teacher in the community, the role of parents, technology, management techniques, and diversity (Comb, 2004).
Throughout this paper, I will explain my educational philosophy. In this philosophy, I will follow the guidelines of the Bloom’s Taxonomy theory. My students will be:
1. Literate in using computers (knowledge).
2. Correspond collaboratively and format views efficiently (comprehension).
3.
Relate information to problem- solving (Application).
4. Distinguish and generate the hypothesis to discover the lesson objectives (Analysis).
5. Adjust curriculum to adapt different learning styles (Synthesis).
6. Monitor the outcome and conclusion (Evaluation). (Bloom, 200)
The
Purpose of Education:
I believe the purpose of education is to assist learners
in developing a high critical-thinking and problem solving to unlock the future.
I will help my students to use ethics in
their judgment and decision. Ethics are the proper standard of human
being behavior.
My
vision in Education:
My vision is to adapt the right curriculum in order
to fit each student’s needs, deploy instructional technology to enhance
21st Century student’s center learning, empower a critical thinking
proficiency for a life-long learning. I will help my students to develop the
sense of ethics without being watched from the authority, each student on his or
her own family’s perspective.
The
Role of Student:
My students utilize center learning to build and enrich
their knowledge, information, and creation. In addition, they utilize
cooperative learning to construct innovative ideas, contribute to collaborative
interaction, and articulate conceptual perspective. My students are the center
of education and share with me designing the curriculum. It has been proved that students
understand and grasp ideas when they are meaningful and related to their
background and environment.
The
Role of Parents:
My students’ parents have a vital role in my classroom.
I encourage their involvement in my classroom’s daily activities. I provide a
24/7-communication channel with parents through the classroom homepage. I believe that parents play a great role
in educating their children, and have a direct, great impact on them. I am there
to assist in discovering new talent abilities. When parents volunteer in my
classroom, my discipline rate will be lower. In addition, the community
activities will be higher.
The Role of
Community:
I
will work with many businesses
through the school districts to receive grants in order to improve my classroom
environment and resources. I will bond with businesses and career services to
provide my students with the desired training, that improves their
skills and relate their knowledge to hands on experience. I will strength the
cooperation and collaboration with other schools to enhance project-based
learning.
The
Role of the Teacher:
As a teacher,
I will facilitate knowledge,
enlightenment, and innovation to my students to effectively build their
self-confidence. I will model, instruct knowledge, and evaluate the outcome. I
will create an exploratory learning environment, and foster one to encourage
active engagement in the learning process.
My students will be treated respectfully and fairly, that is why I care
for them, each according to his special needs.
Diversity:
My students will utilize various resources that affirm diversity. I will ensure the adaptation of a curriculum fit the needs of the students from different ethnic backgrounds and diversity, such as but not limited to Limited English Proficiency, learning disability, physical disability, and gifted/ talented. The use of Instructional technology in my classroom will be to enrich and support all learning styles and high-level of collaboration.
The
Role of Technology:
Technology plays an
important role in education. Through it, my students will acquire, analyze, and
manipulate information. Technology is an instrument that reinforces learning and
teaching in order to generate and share ideas.
My students use technology
to contribute to the learning process and communicate information efficiently.
They will apply technology skills to problem solving and decision-making in the
real life.
Management Techniques:
The students in my
class will receive great support from me throughout their learning adventures.
Their actions will be managed, rather than disciplined. I will utilize the
multidisciplinary approaches in the instruction methods. In my
technology-oriented classroom, the students will gain an ownership over their
learning process. They will be creating, contributing, collaborating, and
articulating conceptual perspective. I will be available at all centers in my
classroom to assist, model, and evaluate my students in their progress.
