Theme of the Upcoming Symposium:Facing the Challenge: A New Chapter in PharmacyAbout
the theme… The
past few years have seen the uprising of various technologies, especially
information technology (IT) and biotechnology. These new trends, all with a
certain impact on the practice of pharmacy, compels us as pharmacists-to-be, to
be ready to deal with them. Other social trends in Pharmacy, like increased
interests in complementary and alternative medicine, also demand the relevant
knowledge and skills to be a competent pharmacist. In our continuous strive to
provide more drug information and to promote proper use of medicines to the
public, patient counseling is now an increasingly important area in our
training.
