Suggested Essay Questions:
Having trouble figuring out what to write about?  Answer one of these questions to complete your essay assignment.  Read all of them first.

1.     Describe the literacy rate and the life expectancy for each of your countries.  Describe the relationship between literacy rate and life expectancy.  If one is high, is the other high, or is it low?  Now make an educated guess (a hypothesis) about why this is so.  If people can read (literacy), how will that effect their ability to survive, (life expectancy)?

2.    Describe the religions for your countries.  Which religions do the people in each country follow?  Now describe the literacy rate for each country.  Now look at each religion more closely.  Review religions in the PPT presentation.  Which ones have a Holy Book (A
Bible, Qu'ran, Torah etc)?  Describe the relationship between Religions with a Holy Book and literacy.

3.     Describe the terrain and the natural resources found in each of your countries.  Now consider the wealth of each country (GDP).  Which countries are wealthiest?  How might this be related to terrain and natural resources?  Is there one resource or land type that always makes a country rich?  If there is no connection between land, resources and wealth, explain what else might it be making these countries rich?  What is the situation for poor countries?  What do they lack?

4.    Describe the environmental issues for each of your countries.  What is the relationship between environmental issues and life expectancy for your countries?  If a country has high life exectancy and many environmental problems, what could explain it?  Use wealth and/or literacy in your answer.
