2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 3 1. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .it has been almost a week since my last entry and a lot has happened. this monday i will be starting a temporary job working in a warehouse, so no more oprah thank goodness.tonight i went out to the illinois v. uic basketball game at the united center with tom and some of his family. unfortunatly uic lost the game by about 18 points. i was happy the u of i fans did not break out the ill ini cheer i hate so much. the last few days i have gone out to a bunch of new bars. yesterday after going to see jack black in school of rock a group of us went to the gaslight in oak lawn. friday night i went with tom up to power's place for some poker. after a few hands we left to some bar i think it was called red dog's. it was near the old real world chicago apartment, which is now a fitness center. it was a nice surprise to see scarface being played on a huge projection screen in the bar. i thought it was a nice touch. after a few drinks there we went to a bar called estellas for a few minutes. then we headed to logan square and a 24 hour mexican restaurant where we were almost given the boot. lets just say one member of the group (not i) got a little wasted and was diving on our table. the outback bowl is coming up and i have to wish the iowa hawkeyes good luck. it turns out that iowa has not won a bowl game in the month of january in 44 years. go hawks, i will be up nice and early for the 10am kick off! 2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 2 5. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 2 3. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .last friday was an interesting night. a group of us decided to do a shaddy bar crawl. we started off at george's for an hour then to quigley's. quigley's is the old rielly's daughter, i was happy that the guitar player played the gambler before we took off for gilhooley's for dollar bottles of pbr. the night cap bar was none other than hearts, which was pretty crowded. then there was an after party at some gal named maggie's apartment in mount greenwood. it was a great night, i need to lay off the shots of jameson irish whiskey.sunday was spent with family at aunt sue and uncle don's christmas party. it is always great to see everyone, and i have not seen a lot of family members in a couple of years. i had so much to eat that i wanted them to move the christmas gifts and tree downstairs so i didn't have to move. let's just say there was no way that was going to happen. tonight i went out with bowling with huge group of katie, sean and my friends. i had the best game of my life bowling a 154. this is far better than my 72 a few weeks ago. it was a good time and sean's friends were being hysterical. i think they are the funniest people on earth. 2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 1 7. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .the lord of the rings trilogy is now over. siv, timmy, katie (sis), and i headed to the midnight show last night to see return of the king. it was crazy scene in the theater with people dressed up as hobbits. i used fandango for the first time to pick up tickets on the net. it was pretty painless and only cost another dollar. i would only do it for big movie on opening day. the movie lived up to its billing as the best movie of 2003 and possibly the best trilogy ever. it sounds like peter jackson may be directing the movie version of the hobbit.before the movie katie (sis), mkb, marty, and i went downtown to marshall fields to have dessert under the christmas tree. to fill the 45 minute wait we headed to visit our friend santa at the cloud cottage on the fifth floor. the cloud cottage is in the childrens section which is also next to the lingre section. someone messed up that product placement, little kids have to walk through all that underware to get to see santa. after dessert we walked outside to see the window displays which are willy wonka themed this year. i posted some pictures from the visit with santa, so check them out. also, i put some new quotes up on the quotes page. 2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 1 1. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .the billboard music awards were on last night and i caught the final acts. as r. kelly made his way to the stage it left me with one quesiton, what is going on in this world? for those of you not from this world or not paying attention to it, r. kelly is being brought up on charges of child porn. who cares though right, i mean he can sing good so the people at billboard could care less about the victims. heck the audience members apperently support this kind of action with their standing ovation when he took the stage. r. kelly though says he is innocent and was digitally put into the video, ya right. unless this group conspiring against r. kelly hired george lucas to make the video i don't see how it would look real. why isn't the billboard music awards letting any other criminals to take center stage? bobby brown just smacked around his wife, he could headline next year. i know the billboard awards are based on highest selling artists, but do you really have to parade around a guy that had to get a judges permission to travel to the show?on another note, after catching a glimpse of trista and oh ya ryan's wedding, my wedding plan for mc donald's is a great idea. seriously, their wedding cost close to 4 million dollars and for what a couple of wedding vows and getting drunk. lets be realistic at mc donald's you could get everyone a happy meal for the reception. that means you get a drink (with free refills), fry, burger and a party favor for $1.99. instead of getting some boring minister you get ronald a fun loving clown that entertains all. for those of you who have loss their hearing you have grimis (that purple thing that doesn't speak) to sign. there is no way r. kelly is signing at my wedding so we will go one better and have justin timberlake (yes, he sings the new mc donald's theme song so he is a mc donald's employee). heck their new slogan at mc donald's is, i am loving it. you just masking tape out the word "it" then put in the name of the groom and bride, and your ready to go. total cost of my mc donald's wedding with around 100 guest is around $200 dollars. see it is free to go to mc donald's so no location fee. the bride and groom will obviously wear a suit and dress they own. no need to purchase a diamond ring, just go get kazoo rings from one of those .25 cent machines (you can wear it and make funny noises with it). ok now the wedding is getting a little expensive at $200.50 dollars. free wedding video, because like every good business they have security cameras. its cheap, quick and easy, why don't they do that at a vegas mc donald's? 2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 9 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .welcome to the fourth and newest version of my site. i needed a change after a full year with the last design. the picture of me in the now famous shirt from australia needed a prominent spot on the site and where better than the front page. the other pictures range from my apartment junior year to new york city. i hope everyone enjoys!today i sent out some more resumes to family members to pass on in the luck of finding a job. for the time being i sent a resume that pays to takes surveys and do focus groups, its better than nothing. congrats goes out to vladamir putin president of russia! it looks like his party is going to take majority hold in the duma. some fear that this could be the beginning of a return to a totalitarian government in russia. russia could become more or less like america where bush's party holds the majority congress. look at the good it has done for america. our economy is so low that we have to bow down to threats from the eu about steel sanctions. we are wasting lives in iraq for no good reason. if we wanted to help a poor country why not look at ending aids in africa. if you ask me smart people should start voting for a divided government. if the president is going to be of one party make the congress of another. it allows for stupid ideas to be stopped one way or another. 2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 8 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .this weekend was spent in iowa city watching a whole lot of basketball. the hawkeyes were having their four team tournament with uic, niu, eastern washington and of course iowa. the hawkeyes staved off a tough niu team by coming from 13 points back to beat the huskies. it seems every hawkeye sporting event i have been to i get stuck sitting around a group of the visiting fans. last saturday it was 7 niu fans, and at the minnesota football game i was stuck in their cheering section. it was a good time.the biggest event of the weekend was we got to meet william, the fridge, perry. yes, the fridge was at the new loews that was put into coralville. he was not as huge as i thought he would be, but his hands were the size of my face. congrats goes out to the iowa football team for their invitation to the outback bowl in tampa, florida january 1st. the hawkeyes will take on the florida gators, go hawks. 2 0 0 3 d e c e m b e r 2. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .the christmas lights are up and the tree has been unfolded (its a fake tree of course), i love the christmas season! i find myself highly motivated after yesterdays interview with an airlines. i think i am going to cancel my interview since i feel the job was not what i want to do. first, i find out that the position pays 3 dollars less than i anticipated. second, i think i was the only one with a college degree there. third, i am not sure how working outside lifting bags will get me to where i want to be. four, how can i take a job that i will drop at first notice of something in the corporate world. five, yes it will allow me to fly free, but when will i have the time. sorry about me placing more chips in the bad bucket than the good, but i have to be honest. i know i have to find work, but the jobs i am offered rub me the wrong way.today i talked to the federal student loans people about switching my repayment plan to the one i decided on. i called up to switch and the lady told me it was all ready done. i asked why my first bill was the wrong repayment plan, she couldn't figure out why it happened. oh well its fixed. returned one of the greatest movies i have seen in a while back to hollywood video. if you have a decent block of time rent whale rider, it is awesome. it takes place in new zealand and covers an acient story of how a tribe got its origins. the big conflict in the movie is between a girl and her grandfather and fighting the traditions of the tribe. all in all it is as good as drumline if not better. some stuff to check out if you are bored, i put the november logs into the november archive. i also added a couple new quotes. . . . d a n n y � december 0 3 . . . |
