Home Brewing, an amateurs experience
We decided to seal up our brewing process. So we cut a hole in the cooler lid and slid it over the spurge, cut another hole in the wort bucket and ran the hose thru.  All in all this turned out to be a very nice, clean, environment to create our wort.
Over an hour as passed and the hot water has been transformed thru mystical powers into -Irish Stout- wort.  Getting closer now.
We've added enough water to make 5 gallons and we're bringing it up to a boil.

Note: I believe this is what caused my starting gravity to be only 1.035-1.036. We should have wort'ed all of the water and not just the 2 gallons.  Have to do a try-and-see on the next batch

We're up to 250 and some change and we see our first boil. Drop the flame down enough to keep a slow roll and no more.  Next we added the all (1 1/2 ounces) of the Northern Brewing Hops and let it roll on for 40 minutes.
...the magic of surface area and boiling wort...
