| February 7th | Saturday IOC Meeting Swimming with giant Manta rays. Greg Greunke will give a slide presentation of his dive trip to Ishigaki Island. This Island is a bit south of Okinawa and is famous for its strong Awamori and a crazy under water airport. Time: Newcomers welcome at 18:00. Regular members come at 18:30. See the map for directions to get there Please note the map has some changes. ____________________________________________________ February 8th | Sunday Snowshoe Trip in the Kyoto Mountains ** Chinatsu and I will lead a snowshoe trip in the mountains north of Kyoto. It will be an easy hike on the Kyoto University Forestry Seminar area near Miyama-cho. The area is beautiful and the nature untouched. It will be a very challenging one star trip. Leader: Rolf and Chinatsu Schlunze <Join the event!> Meet: TBD Deadline to Register: February 1st, 2004 Bring: Snowshoes, pole, ski or snowboard, cold weather clothes, Minshuku kit. Cost: TBD Note: Further details will come later. ____________________________________________________ February 28th - 29th | Saturday to Sunday Weekend Snowshoe trip to Hyonosen ** Let's go play in the snow on Hyonosen (Ice Mountain) on the border of Hyogo and Tottori prefecture! We will leave early Saturday morning, stay in a YOuth Hostel Saturday night, and come back Sunday night. We can snowshoe, hike (ski?) Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.
