Here are some different styles of graphics that are available. My philosophy has been the simpler the better. In a Web environment getting the size down on your graphics is of utmost importance. If it takes too long for your target audience to download your site then they're not going to want to visit.
This is your typical company logo, which can be fairly basic as mine is or even more complicated. The choice is yours.
