Bio of Inuyasha

Here is some back ground information on Inuyasha himself!

Inuyasha...the well loved Youkia. He is the main character of the Inuyasha series (hence the name). Inuyasha stands for "dog demon". He is one of two sons of the great Dog Demon of the Western Lands where he's is also known as Lord Inuyoukia. As a young child Inuyasha was teased for being a hanyou, which means half human/half demon. His mother was a human who was caring and loving for others, one of the traits Inuyasha doesn't realize until later on that he carries. Transforming into a human

From his father side, being a dog demon, he get's his claws, fangs, hair, dog ears...His strength and power reach almost that of a full Youkia but because of his human background he does inherit the weaknesses of humans. One things that no one know, except for Kagome, is that he changes into his human form. On the full moon once a month he turns into his black haired, teenage self for one whole night. He loses all his fangs and demon like appearances. When this happens he stays hidden because he's vulnerable to other demons so it's kept a secret.

Because of he is hanyou, he seeks the power of the Shikon no Tama (Shikon Jewel) that can give Youkia ultimate powers. Inuyasha wishes to use this jewel so he will become a full demon. He learns that the priestess Kikyou has possesion of the jewel and attacks her for it.

Naraku had set them up long ago to make it look like they were against each other all along. So when Inuyasha goes to go steal the jewel from Kikyou's village she catches up with him and pins him to a tree with a spelling binding arrow. He falls dead like aslleep and Kikyou dies from the seriousness of her wounds.

Fifty years later Kagome falls through a well located on her temple ground home and lands back in the time of Feudal Japan (time of Inuyasha). She was pulled through by a centipede demon who detected the Shikon no Tama in her body. When Kagome pulls herself out she recognizes a familiar tree and runs to it. She finds Inuyasha's body pinned to it. He's awakened by her. Quickly he raises his guard and mistakes her for Kikyou (who killed him) becomes of their close resemblence. Since it was no time for chat (the centipede on their tail) he asks her to pull the arrow from him to kill the monster. She does and it proves that only one with power could removed the spell of the arrow.

Kaede places a necklace of beads and fangs around his neck as soon as he lunges for Kagome for the jewel. She tells her to say the word to make him obey and she chooses sit (seeing he has doggy ears). This makes him fall flat on his face whenever she speaks the word. Kaede tells Inuyasha that Kikyou died on the same day as him and that Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyou.

The jewel is accidently shattered by Kagome's arrow and the pieces are shot all over the world. This sets Kagome and Inuyasha off on a quest the gather all pieces so Inuyasha can be a full Youkia (demon) because other demons would take advantage of gaining power. Later Inuyasha slowly develops feelings for Kagome.

One thing of importance is the Tetsusaiga, the sword from Inuyasha's father. It was made from one of his fangs and can kill a hundred demons in one sweep. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha fight one another for it even though Sesshoumaru has the Tensusagia which has the power to heal.

Inuyasha thinks of as a seventeen year old but he is much older. His age has not been told though.
