This was the 2nd park in the Walt Disney World Resort and open in October of 1982 (same year as my birthday).  The idea behind this park was to bring the achievements of man and show through imagination and wonders.

The park has two different sections to it; Future World and World Showcase.  Future World has attractions that deal with science, the meaning of life, the human body, how car for the land, space, along with imagination and engineering.  The park's center piece is located in Future World and one of the most reconizable sites in all of Disney World, that is the "ball" that's located as soon as you walk into the park.  Inside the ball is the ride Spaceship Earth, which is a journy back through time to the very begin and a journy into the future.  Probably one of the best attractions that is in Future World is the GM Test Track, which opened in 1999.  There, you can find out what all kinds a test a car goes through before it's released to the general public.  The newest attraction coming in October of 2003 is "Mission: Space."  This ride is supposed to make you feel like you're on an actually shuttle mission into space and feel what an astronaut feels in space travel.

The World Showcase is the second part of Epcot, and tends to open towards noon time.  There are 10 different nations from around the world, including the U.S., displayed in the World Showcase. nbsp; You got Canada, the U.K., France, Morocco, Japan, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico.  The U.S. is represented by what is called "The American Adventure": a journy through America's past and a look at all the people that made a difference in the new world.  A lot of the nation have shows that talk about their country and its history.

Below are some pictures from the tavels to Epcot.  Everything from attractions on the Future World side, the World Showcase side, to the night show entitled "Illuminations:  Reflections of Earth," which if it wasn't for Fantasmic at MGM, this would probably be the #1 night show in Orlando.  So enjoy, and there'll be more on the way.
