Powers:
Energizer can project "power balls" of force from her chest, which carry great
destructive impact. In order to amass enough energy to form the "power
balls,"
Energizer must disintegrate an object and absorb the released energy into
herself. Apparently Energizer does not convert all of the matter she
disintegrates into energy, or create nuclear reactions within it; if she did,
she would release far more energy than she has so far. Probably she
disintegrates matter by severing the bonds holding its molecules together.
Energizer prefers to derive energy by disintegrating solid objects or liquids;
gases, except in impractically large amounts, could not give her sufficient
energy. When charged with energy, Energizer's body often glows with crackling
power.
At first Energizer had little control over her power, and would accidentally
fire power balls on becoming angry or frightened. Moreover, the power balls
would fly off in all directions from her chest. With practice and determination,
however, Energizer has since learned how to fire the power balls when she wishes
to, and in the specific direction she wishes. There are undefined limits to the
amount of time she can contain certain amounts of energy within her body, and
she sometimes may be forced to release power balls simply to rid herself of
excess energy.
Through practice with the Morlock named Erg, Energizer has learned how to absorb
energy fired at her and then use it to create power balls. It is as yet unclear
whether she can do this with all forms of energy or not.
Energizer's power is limited by the amount of energy she can absorb. She can
easily absorb and release enough energy to destroy several steel beams at once,
as she did when she caused a building under construction to collapse upon the
being known as Kurse. Straining to her utmost limit, Energizer once absorbed
tremendous amounts of mystical energy from the enchanted hammers of Thor and
Beta Ray Bill, and released it upon Kurse. It was enough power to stun that
being, who was then over twice as strong as Thor, into unconsciousness.
Presumably as Energizer grows older, she will be able to surpass her present
limits in utilizing her power.
History: Katie was granted her power by a dying Kymelian, along with her sister
and two brothers. For a while she switched powers with the accelerations powers
of her sister Julie and became Starstreak. Later she switched powers to the
gravity powers originally held by her brother Alex and became Counterweight II.
Eventually she regained her original powers over matter and energy.
A couple of months before Onslaught's rise to power, the superhero team known as
Power Pack traveled to Kymellia to help stop the Badoon from taking over their
planet. Since the mission was dangerous the Powers (that is the parents, their
last name is Power) decided to accompany the young superheroes. They have stayed
in Kymellia since, helping their friends battle threats like the Snarks and the
Shi'ar (when they were controlled by Onslaught they tried to take over Kymellia
too, luckily Power Pack was able to stop them). Currently the Snark world is at
one of the worst war it has ever seen and the teen heroes made a choice. They
sent their youngest member, Katie, to Earth to gather more heroes to help them
stop the Snarks from killing each other and to stop the evil Snark prince Sidor,
who plans to conquer the Universe once he has control of his home planet. Now
Katie "Energizer" Power finds herself in the planet that gave birth to her (actually
her mother gave birth to her, but you know what I mean), but she doesn't know
how much things have changed at home....
Katie tried to gather a team of heroes to save her brothers and stop the Snark
Wars. She met Kitty Pryde, early on her journey and she decided to join "Katie's
Krusaders". After several run-ins with heroes and villains, Katie thought
she'd never find the necessary power to save Power Pack. When a lot of heroes
and villains where teleported to Times Square and attacked by Magneto, Katie saw
the chance she was waiting for. She called her kymellian friend YRIK and ordered
him to teleport as many heroes as he could when she gave him the order. As soon
as Magneto's concentration was broken she gave the order. However Yrik's
teleportation portal was altered by the Scarlet Witch, following Roma's orders,
and Katie Power found herself in a world not her own. She and a bunch of "Refugees"
are now fifty years in the future, and the place doesn't look good.
Back in the Present Katie finds herself in an
adoptive home, in what seems to be an autistic trance, for all she does is play
with that strange metal ball-like device she found in the future. She has no
clue that the message inside the ball might very well mean the end of the menace
that is Onslaught.
