Characters
Chii - A Persocon that Hideki finds tied up in the trash. She can only say 'chi' at first, but soon hideki teaches her things, and she becomes able to speak and act like a regular person. Chii could be a Chobits: Persocons that can think and act on their own.
Hideki Motosuwa - A 19 year old boy. He happens to be broke. He goes to prep school until he's smart enough, and has enough money, to go to college. He works at Club Pleasure. In the anime, Hideki first lives on a farm and then comes to tokyo to get closer to colleges.
Shinbo - A friend of Hideki. Goes to the same Prep school as Hideki. Met Minoru online in a bbs room. Shinbo's persocon is Sumomo. In the anime, Shinbo lives in the same apartment as Hideki.
Sumomo - A persocon owned by Shinbo. She's refered to as a laptop basically. She's small and can fit in your hand. She only does simple things, like checking e-mails and making phone calls. 
Chitose Hibiya - The landlady of Hideki's apartment. She seems to have some type of past connection with Chii. Donates her old "hand me downs" to Hideki so that Chii can wear them.
Ms. Shimizu - The teacher at Hideki and Shinbo's prep school. She always wanted to be a kindergarden teacher, but because of marriage reasons, never became one. Her marriage isn't going so well anymore. Seems to have some kind of connection with Shinbo.
Yumi - Works at Club Pleasure with Hideki. She developes a crush on Hideki. She doesn't seem to like persocons very much. Her eyes become sad and gloomy whenever she talks about them.
Minoru Kokobunji - A 12 year old whom happens to be a genius when it comes to persocons. He is the one that told Hideki about the Chobits legend. He makes his own costom persocons, including Yuzuki.
Yuzuki - A costom made persocon. She was made by Minoru. She was supposed to have the traits of Minoru's sister.
Kotoko - A persocon, much like Sumomo. Their sizes may be the same, be their personalities are very different. Kotoko isn't very hyper and energetic, and tends to be on the more serious side.
Dita - A mysterious girl. She hangs around with Zima. They seem to be looking for something that was created with higher standards then your ordinary persocon. We come to think that this is Chii, because of the fact that they show up in some of the places she has been.

Atashi - A character in the story book : "The City with no People." Not much is known about Atashi, besides the fact that it's a story's character, but whenever Hideki reads the story, he can't help but think that Atashi has some kind of similarity with Chii.
Black Chii - Something that comes and visits Chii every so often. She's identical to Chii's appearance. She always tells Chii what Chii's purpose is.
