| Links are unique to the internet. No other medium of communication allows for such quick jumps from one basket of information to another. Writing down a mailing address, transcribing a phone number or memorizing a last name are all more time consuming than the quick link from one site to another. Below are web pages which are important or interesting for some reason or another. Some belong to friends and some to people I have never met. Some belong to people I would never want to meet. Scroll down to see the entire list. Or just return home. | |||

| My Boot: Read The Record Store Terror. Muse: Good interviews. Haiku Movie Reviews: Self-explanatory. Robbie Vorhaus: Art / fictional side of Flak. Mcsweeney's: Eggers' literary magazine. Adler Planetarium webcam: Live view of Chicago skyline from the Adler Planetarium. Jesus seeks loving woman: I heard the radio pundits talking about this the other day. The URL www.jesus.com is home to a personal ad. This is sort of funny, although this guy seems sort of iffy (why does such a "spiritual" guy "prefer" women of "recent" Norse-Germanic heritage, and what does "recent" mean?). Ditto: This is a search engine that looks specifically for pictures, than displays them with links to the sites they came from. Good for finding pictures of bands. Random Website Surfing: Sends you to a random (very random) website. A lot of junk but persistence yields results... Did you know there is a city called Nevada in Missouri? Mainichi Interactive: Haiku from around the world. |
The Trouble with Music: Interesting article by Steve Albini. Final Fantasy: Yes, it's true, they're making a movie. Walking Distance Photography: Nice band photos. Hardcore dating page: Find the girl who likes Napalm Death even more than you do. Psychtests: Many, many psychological tests. Listen.com: Index of mp3s, liquid audio, etc. All Music Guide: Information on every artist and every piece of music produced, ever. Close anyway. I haven't stumped it yet. NPR online: Public radio with some useful (and sometimes strange) programming. Phone spell: Find out what words and phrases your phone number spells. Better yet, reverse the process and find out what numbers you need to spell certain messages. Billboard: Music news, music reviews. Battlestar Galactica: If Monday's 18-hour marathon somehow left you unsatisfied, this is the place for more information on everyone's favorite 70's sci-fi serial. Seven wonders of the ancient world: Different than the ones I have traditionally heard. Great links to all sorts of modern "wonders." |
