WELCOME Royal Boer Ranch is located in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains just a few miles from the famous "Spa City" of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Our goal is to offer quality Boers for 4-H and FFA projects and shows.
About Us This whole adventure started in 2003 with my son's infatuation with goats. Jamie was 5 at the time and every year we visited the Garland County Fair to visit the animals. He could never get enough of the goats. Even at the zoo all he wanted to do was go to the petting section and see the goats. It was a little weird. We had just moved on to 15 beautiful acres and joined our local 4-H group, the Sunshine Shamrocks. We relented to the pressure and went to pick out our first doe. We took along our 9 year old daughter, Jessie, and once there we ended up having to buy two, one for each of them. This humble begining has grown to 8 Boer goats, two pastures, a barn, breeding, me learning more than I ever imagined about goats and my daughters dream of having a working Boer goat ranch. This is still a 4-H project as Jessie (13 yrs) and Jamie (9 yrs) do a majority of the daily chores. They are truly learning the value of hard work, responsibility and the fun of owning these animals. Somewhere along the line I found I liked the goats too. I help with clipping, hooves, health care etc. but the kids are with me to lend a hand whenever needed. Blake is the muscle. Goats are not quite his "thing" but he is ready to help with pastures, fencing and such in support of our little, but growing, herd. Our goals are to have a small herd of around 12 Boer does and a buck with a focus on quality for 4-H & FFA project showing and marketability as well as color. We all have a love for the non-traditional reds, paints and polka dots. This year begins our first opportunity to offer goats for sale so if you are looking for a kid, buck or maybe even a doe check out our sale pages. Otherwise just sit back, relax and browse our site. We will be improving it as the year goes on and will try to update it often with new pictures. We would love to hear from you so feel free to email us at the link above.
