| 7/20/04 - 3 New Bosox The Bosox have signed recently promoted IFer Jorge Cantu of TB along with hard hitting OFer Brandon Moss and SS Luis Soto, both of Boston. Cantu likely will find himself a home at 2B in TB alongside stud BJ Upton, though he may have the power for 3B. In other news Hideo Nomo now officially sucks 4/1/04 - No Joke, No more Nomo Boston has traded off SP Hideo Nomo and deadbeat Danny Graves to San Francisco for young stud John Maine and and young lefty Abe Alvarez. Alvarez is expected to fast track to the majors because of his great control and sheer pitchability, he has a ceiling as a #3. Maine led the minors in strikeouts (185) and BAA (.177) over 146IP |
