iv.  Governance

This InterFaith Settlement is maintained without a conventional form of governance.  Decisions are made by general consensus.  Deference is provided to the elders within the community of this InterFaith Settlement.

Text Box: Women and Children in Housing Complex at Kibbutz Bror Chayil (by Yad Tabenkin Archives and International Communes Desk, www.communa.org.il)The structure of this InterFaith Settlement includes specific neighbourhoods, respectively designated for each Faith, including Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam, as well as specific neighbourhoods for additional Faiths, including Sikhism and the Baha’i.  Within each neighbourhood, there is a respective House of Worship (synagogue, temple, church, mosque) for the respective adherents of each respective religion to  properly perform the religious rites and observances within their respective religion.

This InterFaith Settlement also includes an ‘InterFaith Area’ where all the respective adherents of the different religious traditions can interact in a comparatively equitable manner.  This ‘InterFaith Area’ includes the town hall, the market, the initial industrial area, an agricultural area, a meditation area, and a House of Worship.  This ‘InterFaith Area’ also includes recreation and leisure facilities, as well as additional facilities.

The residential accommodations within the lodge and the autonomous cottages and cabins are situated in the area that is currently designated as ‘InterFaith.’  Plans are being made for residential construction to occur in each of the religiously designated neighbourhoods in a balanced manner and as coordinated by the residents of this InterFaith Settlement.
