Juventus to win against Atalanta (2nd February)
6.4 pts @ 1.8 (Bluesq)
Juventus to draw against Atalanta
3.6 pts @ 3.2 (Ukbetting)

Atalanta have been in reasonable form of late recently, beating a struggling Roma side at home. However, Juventus are a different proposition. They will be keen to keep pace at the top of the division against a side that are still struggling, despite recent performances at the wrong end of the table. Due to their strong home record we have covered the win for Juventus with a draw. 1.5pts profit either way.

Result: Atalanta 1- 1 Juventus;
+1.52 pts

A good decision to cover with the draw.  Juventus pulled it back to 1-1 and were unlucky not to win.

Celta Vigo to win against Sevilla (2nd February)
5 pts @ 1.73 (Premierbet)

Celta Vigo have just had an excellent 2-0 win at home against Barcelona.  Sevilla are languishing towards the bottom end of the table and with the form Celta are in this should be a comfortable victory.

Result: Celta Vigo 2 - 0 Sevilla; +3.65 pts

A comfortable victory!

Manchester United to win 1 against Manchester City (9th February)
5 pts @ 2.0 (Bluesq)

Manchester City go into this game with two defeats from their last three Premiership outings, including a surprise loss at home to West Brom.  Man United on the other hand are firing on all cylinders.  With Man United at home and wanting to join Arsenal at the top of the table they should really be up for this match, and the fact that it is a local derby will mean they will want to win with style.  With the form they are in there is no reason why this shouldnt happen.

Result: Manchester Utd 1 1 Manchester City; -5pts

Looking good from the 18th minute when Nistelrooy scored, and Manchester United had many chances to kill off the game.  Unfortunately, the obvious result didnt happen.

Sri Lanka to win against New Zealand (10th February)
5 pts @ 2.0 (Totebetxpress)

Sri Lanka have an excellent record against New Zealand, having lost only 5 of their last 20 meetings in ODIs.  Furthermore, the Bloemfontein pitch is a slow one, and will suit the remarkable Muralitharan who has an economy rate of 2.56 and an average of 13.66 in his last 5 games against the Kiwis.  With the Sri Lankan batsmen enjoying themselves on a slow Sydney pitch recently, this looks a good bet, made even better by the evens offered by Totebetxpress, a stand-out price from the general 5/6.

Result: SL won against New Zealand by 47 runs; +5 pts

Fleming would have done well to read our analysis of the slow pitch his decision not to play Vettori made the win even easier!

West Indies to win against New Zealand (13th February)
3pts @ 1.73 (Bet365)

The West Indies are on the back of a superb victory over host nation South Africa, whereas New Zealand were thrashed by a resurgent Sri Lanka.  The West Indies won the last series played between these 2 sides 3-1, and their odds look too big for this game.  With a batting line up that includes classy strokemakers such as Gayle, Chanderpaul and Sarwan, as well as big hitters like Powell and Jacobs to say nothing of a certain B. C. Lara, they should overwhelm the ordinary New Zealand bowling attack.

Result: West Indies lost by 20 runs ; -3 pts

As Carl Hooper stated,

"We bowled well enough. To get 240-odd on a small ground and on a good pitch, we should have got that, but we just didn't bat well enough. Had Lara not been stupidly run out this should have been an easy victory.

Southampton to beat Norwich (15th February)
5pts @ 1.53 (Ukbetting)

Southampton are doing very nicely in the Premiership and are a quality side. Norwichs form however has been slipping quite badly of late. They have drawn their last two matches with Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday after being 2-0 up and will be lacking in confidence after dropping points to two mediocre teams. Norwich are also only where they are in the league due to their home form, but have not won away in nine, since the 1-2 success at Preston on 28 September. As shaky 1-0 win at home in the last minute of injury time against Dagenham and Redbridge perhaps explain why Norwich dont have a good tradition in Cup competition. Should be an easy Southampton win.

Result: Southampton 2 - 0 Norwich; + 2.65 pts

Southampton had many chances to score and proved too good at home.

Ireland to beat Scotland with 6 pt handicap (16th February)
5pts @ 1.91 (Bluesq)

Ireland hammered Scotland at home last year 43-22. Much has been made of the loss to Scotland of Budge Pountney an inspirational captain to Scotland. Ireland are a constantly improving side and their performance against Australia in the Autumn tests proves they can beat the best. Despite slightly indifferent away form in previous years, Ireland should win by more than six points.

Result: Scotland 6 - 36 Ireland; + 4.55 pts

Ireland looked a class above Scotland and this bet romped home.

Fulham to win against West Brom (19th February)
3 pts @ 1.8 (Ukbetting)

Fulham have won their last three home games on the trot with 1-0, 2-1 and 3-0 wins, against Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and Charlton respectively. Added to that, Malbranque is on a hot run of scoring with 7 goals in his last 5 games.  West Brom are still struggling at the bottom end of the table, and without striker Jason Roberts, they shouldnt have the quality to get a result here.

Result: Fulham 3 - 0 West Brom; +2.4 pts

3 second-half goals secured a deserved victory for Fulham.

England (-28 points) to win against Wales (22nd February)
3 pts @ 1.91

England comfortably cruised to victory against France, one of the best sides in the world. Wales are arguably the worst side in the whole tournament after having been humiliated by Italy. The response from the Wales coach has been to change the captain and make eight changes. Wales now have a team with little experience, little team spirit and players that havent played much together coming up against the best team in the world. This England team put 53 points past South Africa. Form suggests they should do a similar thing against Wales. England to win by comfortably more than 28 points.

Italy (+24 points) to win against Ireland (22nd February)
3 pts @ 1.91

Italy looked fired up and in good shape in their opening victory at home against Wales. Ireland played very well against Scotland but with a couple of intercepted tries the scoreline perhaps flattered them a little bit. Ireland only beat Italy by 15 points in Dublin last year. Italy have improved since then and with a partisan crowd behind them shouldnt lose by more than 24 points.

Scotland (+25 points) to win against France (23rd February)
3 pts @ 1.91

If you look at past results France havent beaten Scotland by more than 25 points in their last four meetings in the Six Nations. Scotland are not a bad side as their recent result against Australia testifies. Keen to make amends for their defeat by Ireland, Scotland should put on a better show and shouldnt lose by more than 25 points.

Treble on all 3 bets
1 pts @ 6.97

This bet offers a very good return for a small outlay, especially considering our confidence in the above bets.

Arsenal to win against Manchester City (22nd February)
3 pts @ 1.83

Manchester City lost their last home match 2-1 to the lowly West Brom, who we successfully opposed in midweek. Arsenal on the other hand will be keen to maintain their position on top of the Premiership table, especially as Manchester United should beat Bolton. After a successful 2-0 away victory at Old Trafford, the odds for an away victory look too big especially as Manchester United are only at 1.5 to beat Bolton.

Result, Man City 1-5 Arsenal. +2.49pts

February Running Total:      + 11.77 pts
January 2003:
Norwich to win against Brighton (14th January)
5 pts @ 1.62 (Bluesq)

Norwich have an astonishing home record, they have lost only once this season at home and have the joint best defensive record in the division. The odds are good because Norwich drew at home to Brighton a few days ago in the League.  However, Norwich completely dominated this match and hit the woodwork on numerous occasions. Brighton are languishing towards the bottom of the division
and will be more concerned with the League than the Cup. Norwich are keen for a good cup run this year especially after nearly putting out Chelsea at home last year, being unlucky to draw. Should be an easy Norwich victory.

Result: Norwich 3 - 1 Brighton; +3.08 pts

A comfortable victory, exactly as expected.

Ernie Els to win Hawaiian Open outright (15th January)
2 pts @ 6 (Bet365)
Retief Goosen each-way in Hawaiian Open
2 pts @ 17 (Bluesq)

Els is in the form of his life at the moment and he is clear favourite to take this title.  It is difficult to see him getting beaten.  Generous odds are also available for Goosen, a quality player, and if either of these play to their potential, the returns will be highly profitable.

Result: Els win, Goosen 20th; +8 pts

Goosen was leading after the first round, but threw it away in the final 2 rounds.  Els, on the other hand, was superb throughout,  deserving his victory.

Roma to win against Vincenza (16th January)
5 pts @ 2.1 (Bet365)

This seems a sure bet. Roma are under pressure in the League and really need to relieve that with a good result here. Roma are a huge name in world football, boasting the likes of Totti and Batistuta,  and this first division Italian side are bound to be overawed. Whilst Vincenza have had a good run in the cup it is time for this run to end. The odds are good due to Roma's poor league form, but this is to our advantage. Quality should shine through here.

Result: Vincenza 1 - 2 Roma; + 5.5 pts

Although this result looked close, Vincenza only scored a consolation goal in the final minutes of the match, and the bet was never in doubt.

England to have a higher 1st 15 over score than Sri Lanka (16th January)
2 pts @ 2.1 (Betfair)

This is a crunch match  and injuries could play a crucial role, with Sri Lanka missing star off-spinner Muralitharan.  Michael Vaughan returns to the England ranks.  However, there is no value in the odds for an England win, and the selection is in the highest 1st 15 over market.  England have consistently outscored Sri Lanka in this field thus far, and the return of Vaughan coupled to the explosive Knight and Trescothick, should see England post a higher total.

Result: England 90 - 91 Sri Lanka; - 2 pts

Desperately unlucky.  WIth only 4 overs of their 15 left, Sri Lanka looked like having no chance of overhauling England's total, but 2 extremely poor and expensive overs from Harmison saw Sri Lanka just edge England out.

Llanelli to win against Glasgow with a 7 point handicap
(17th January)
10 pts @ 1.83 (Bluesq)

This seems a peach of a bet. Llanelli beat them comfortably at home and since then Glasgow's form has dropped dramatically. Glasgow have nothing to play for in this match as they now can't qualify where as Llaneli need to win it. Glasgow are without two of their International centre backs. Facing a fiercely patriotic Welsh side with (according to their website) a huge entourage of travelling fans, Llanelli should win comfortably and by far more than seven points.

Result: Glasgow 8 - 34 Llanelli; + 8.33 pts

Easy money!

Arsenal to win against Liverpool (29th January)
5 pts @ 2.63 (Premierbet)

Even though Liverpool are at home, the current form still suggests an Arsenal win.  Furthermore, the 13/8 offered by Premierbet is a standout price and offers good value.

Results: Liverpool 2 - 2 Arsenal; - 5 pts

We were very unlucky with this bet.  Heskey equallised for Liverpool deep into injury time, from a corner that should never have been.

0 or 1 matches to finish 6-0 or 6-1 (30th January)
1 pts @ 5 (SportingOdds)

The Masters has a high class field, consisting of the top 16 players as well as 2 wildcards.  With this being so, it seems unlikely that there will be many one-sided victories.  With this is mind, this bet offers good value.

Results: More than 1 match finished 6-0/6-1; - 1pts

This was a good bet, but unfortunately the results did not quite go our way.
