Ripped....From The Headlines

"In the show Law & Order, there are two separate but equally important plots: those that are ripped from the headlines and those that are not. These are the former."

We all know that NBC loves to tout "this week's all new, ripped from the headlines episode of Law & Order"... But just which real-life case is the fictional version based upon?

I want to thank Bob Ashely for allowing me to borrow the episode information from his websites, TV Zone and Ep Guides. Both have incredible episode guides for the show!

I'd love to be able to have the name of the real case the episode is based upon. I'd also like a link to more information about the case (unless it was an extremely high profile case, like the O.J. Simpson case). A short synopsis of the actual case would also be appreciated as would any parallels between the real and fictionalized versions. If you can help out with any of this, email me! Thanks!
