Endurance

Jack: "She did spend the last 12 years taking care of this kid."
Nora: "Well, that's what she's supposed to do."

Jack: "We still have to expect them to use her son's condition to cultivate sympathy for the defendant."
Nora: "Then you use it to cultivate sympathy for her son. Is taking the life of a person with disabilities any less of a crime than taking the life of a person without them?"

Jack: "The fact is, she went to this emergency room doctor that week, she was confronted by the hopelessness of her son's condition and she reacted."
Nora: "Is that a legal opinion or an emotional response?"

"Well, what do you think [is a suitable punishment]? Marshall of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade?"

Turnstile Justice

"I'd like nothing better than to hang their heads on my wall."

"Let's hope he has a good immune system."

Dissonance

Standoff

"Texas law in Manhattan."

Return

"Let's give it a shot that they'll take the word of a few rabbis from Brooklyn."

Jack: "Are you suggesting that we offer him a deal?"
Nora: "After what we went through to get him back? Not on your life!"

Burn, Baby, Burn

Nora: "You're missing the Lateef Miller show."
Jack: "What channel?"
Nora: "Two, four, five, seven, nine."

Amends

*****NOTE**** Dianne Wiest did not appear in this episode.

Thin Ice

(on the tape of a game): "Not exactly a cover photo for Parent Magazine."

Nora: "I see we have more than one ego in that courtroom with a penchant for winning."
Jack: "Guilty as charged."
Nora: "Now let's hear the jury say that."

Hubris

Whose Monkey is it Anyway? (a.k.a. Curious George)

Sunday in the Park with Jorge

Donny: "What I need to report back is that you're all absolutely convinced that you've got the right guy,"
Nora: "We wouldn't be prosecuting his if we weren't."

Teenage Wasteland

"No, I'm not going to kill a white kid just to prove I'm politically correct."

Nora: "What should be the standard to take the life of a teenager?"
Abbie: "Where I come from, it's when what a person's done is so vicious, so cruel, he forfeits the right to get any older."
Nora: "Where I come from, a person can't forfeit that right. We can only take it from him."

"With any luck, we'll be able to strap him to a gurney before he's 21."

Phobia

A Losing Season

Swept Away: A Very Special Episode

Bronx Cheer

"We're not here just to amass convictions."

"I said make a deal. I didn't say pony up the courthouse."

Jack: "I have to admit, it was nice to get somebody out of jail for a change."
Nora: "Well, I hope that's out of your system."

Ego

Abbie: "Marner's late husband kept a 26-foot Grady White in the boat basin and she held onto it."
Nora: "Well, that's a nice item to have--I mean, if you need to dispose of a body."

White Lie

"I'd rather see him upstate for a while than on my street corner next week."

Whiplash

"A scam using immigrants as crash test dummies."

All My Children

"I thought you fixed this damn thing."

"There are worse places than prison."

Brother's Keeper

School Daze

"This is a strange way to run a candy store."

"The public looks to us to maintain law and order, not run around like chickens with our heads cut off."

Judge Dread

"You'd have spent your summation wiping the shoe polish off your mouth."

"Why do you always believe in the worst in people, Jack?"

"I like to think I can do this job without becoming a cynic."

Karlin: "I try to enforce the law. You try to compromise it."
Lewin: "It's called prosecutorial discretion."

"It'll make a great sound bite someday."

"Until someone else is sitting in this chair, I'll continue to do what I think is right."

Deep Vote

"Speak softly and carry a big subpoena."

"Other than egg on my face, what do I have left?"

"They're all politicians...just some of them wear robes."

"They can always ask Benton to help them apply for a pardon."
