"Two weeks and
nothing" Shane said forlornly staring at the ceiling.
The lads were all sitting around in a hotel room between recording
sessions."She hasn't called or emailed me, so much for talking it
over". "How come you haven't contacted her?" Bryan asked sitting
at
the end of the bed, "Your phone works too". "I want to have a
chance
to talk with me mam and Father McLean, and I won't see either for a
week or so." In all honesty the guys were having trouble understanding
why it was such a big deal, that kind of stuff didn't usually matter
to him. "What if one of us wasn't Catholic, would that matter?" Nicky
asked kicking a soccer ball between his feet absentmindly. "No it
wouldn't but I don't want to marry you. It's hard to explain. I had
visions of a beautiful ceremony in the Abbey, our children's
baptisms.... why didn't she mention it? We were so in tune with each
other, she could have let me know. I never lied about what my religion
means to me." He knew he was being stubborn about it but that his
mates would be there for him, even if they didn't agree with him.

"It's been two weeks Shane, I guess I wasn't good enough" Claire said
looking at the computer screen. Another day with no emails, at least
not from him. Up until the trip she'd get 15-20 a day, sometimes just
to say "I Love You". Work had been good but somewhat empty. There was
the option of training for a management position but she had to cut
down on her absences. It didn't seem to be a problem now. She wanted
to call but she wasn't the one with the problem. Upon checking the
mail she found a package from Ireland and her heart rose. It was from
Bryan, the dear had been writing most every day. If he didn't email he
called,he turned out to be a good friend when she needed one the most.
It was pictures from her visit and a videotape, the love in those
pictures was painful to look at. The video was of some performances on
European TV shows, Claire enjoyed watching them do silly stunts and
try to speak the native language. The last one was of a show just 2
days before, and they were asked girlfriend questions again. Shane
was last to answer,"I'm very much in love but we can't be together
right now" he said bowing his head. Claire started to cry, he could
tell an audience that but not her. Just then the phone rang, "Hello
love, it's me Bryan. Did the post arrive yet?", "It did, thank you.
Thank you for being so kind." He coughed lightly, "No problem, I'm
just that kind of guy. Can you do me a favor?", "Of course I
would",
"Come pick me up. I'm at the airport to stay with you. Is that
alright?" She laughed thinking he was joking but he wasn't. "I'm here
to be the friend you need and you're going to be my tour guide" he
explained as he gave her a huge bear hug. "Yes, you're just what I
need" she said.
