Shane dropped Kristen off at Nicky's house. "Have fun this weekend Shane!" she yelled at him as she grabbed her bag and closed the door.
"Bye," he said and slammed on the gas. He'd just wasted two hours of his precious time so the girl he loved could comfort Nicky. It wasn't fair.
Kristen knocked on the door. "Nicky!" she hollered. "It's Krissy!" While Shane had always called her Kris, Nicky had always called her Krissy. He always treated her like a little sister, although she always wished he'd see her as more than that. She'd fallen for him since the first time she'd seen him. Georgina had been a lucky girl to have Nicky, at least that's what Kristen thought.
Nicky opened the door. His eyes were completely red and he looked like hell. He didn't have to say a word; Kristen immediately took him into her arms. "It's gonna be ok Nicky. It will."
"But she's gone," he sobbed. He cried on Kristen's shoulder for the next fifteen minutes. Kristen never said a word, she just held him. When he was done crying, they went into the house.
As they sat down on the couch, Kristen said, "Tell me what happened Nicky. What did she say?" "She just said she didn't love me anymore. That's all she said. Then she left. She already had her things moved out by the time I got back from the airport this morning." He started tearing up again.
Kristen touched his face and wiped the tears away. "I'm so sorry Nicky, I really am."
"What am I gonna do Krissy? I loved her."
"I know you did Nicky." Kristen sighed. Why wasn't there something to say to someone when they had their heartbroken? It didn't matter what you said, it always made things worse, and Kristen knew that. "But, somehow you'll pull through this."
"How?" Nicky was so upset. He had planned out the rest of his life with Georgina. She was supposed to be by his side through everything. Now, all those dreams were gone.
"Time. You just have to give it time and you'll slowly get over her. One day, you'll find someone else."
Nicky didn't want to think about someone else right now. All he wanted was to get the memory of Georgina out of his mind. "Want a drink?" he asked Kristen as he walked over to the bar he had had installed in his house.
"No thanks Nix, it's only 1."
"Pubs open at 9 Krissy, most blokes are drinking well before 1," he said as he pulled out a bottle of Irish whiskey. He poured himself a shot. "Sure you don't want any?"
"I'll pass," Kristen said, worried about what was about to happen. She knew he was going to get completely wasted, trying to drown out Georgina.
"Here's to women that break your heart," he raised his glass and then swallowed. He took another shot, and another, until the bottle was gone.
"I neber shoulda dated her in the flirst place," he slurred as he slumped against the bar.
Kristen knelt down beside him. "Don't say that Nicky, you two had a great thing. You had some wonderful times together."
"Why couldn't G have been half the woman you are?" Nicky asked as he reached up to Kristen's face. "I never noticed how green your eyes are before. They're beautiful"
"Thanks," Kristen said. Then Nicky leaned in and kissed her.
"I've always thought you were gorgeous Krissy. If I hadn't been with Georgina, I would have dated you."
"You're drunk Nicky." Kristen said it more for her own sake than his. She knew she couldn't believe what he was saying now, even though she wanted it to be real more than anything.
Nicky wrapped his arm around Kristen's waist and pulled her close to him. "You only say what's really on your mind when you are drunk Krissy."
"Don't Nicky," she tried to push him away, but even though he was drunk, he still had a strong grip.
He held her tight and kissed her again. "I know you've always wanted me Krissy, I could see it in your eyes."
"Nicky, let me go, now, before you do something you'll regret." Kristen wiggled, trying to get away from him. She knew it would be a lethal combination, him drunk and her wanting him so desperately.
"Look me in the eye and tell me you've never wanted me Krissy." Kristen looked at him, but couldn't do it.
"This is wrong Nicky, it's..." he kissed her again and ran his hands up her shirt. She couldn't fight him anymore. She wanted him, had for so long. She let her body take over and let Nicky have his way.
