Prayers Answered

 

I prayed, "O Lord, bless all the world,

And help me do my part."

And straightaway He commanded me

To bind a broken heart.

I prayed, "Oh, bless all hungry children,

May they each be amply fed."

He said, "Go find a starving soul,

And share with him your bread."

"Oh, stir the hearts of men," I prayed,

"And make them good and true."

He answered, "There is but one way —

They must be stirred through you."

Dear friend, unless you really mean

Exactly what you say;

Until you mean to work with God,

It’s dangerous to pray.

Mirage

I panicked in the midst of unknown land

A land of miles and miles of scorching sand

Heart filled in dismay,

I began to stray

And lost my way

As I trotted on never ending way

Struggling to keep pace

In search of solace

I realized, it was just hallucination

A mirage, an illusion

That played with my emotions

When my destination was just next to me.
