A grumpy old woman once went to have her picture taken, and when the photographer was ready, he said, "Please, a little more of a smile." The woman angrily replied, "Those who suffered so much in life have no smiles left." The photographer said, "Go on, happiness should come from inside; try it, please, just a little smile." The woman really tried to smile and at that very moment the photographer snapped the picture and said, "Very good! Just wait and see how youll look twenty years younger in the picture." And thats just what happened. From that time on the woman would look everyday in the mirror and say to herself, "Please, just a little more of a smile, just a little more!" After a few weeks that grumpy old woman changed into a radiant person whom hardly anyone knew. The Contented Fisherman A wealthy tourist, complete within dark glasses and cameras, went strolling along a tropical beach and found a fisherman dozing alongside his canoe. "Why arent you out catching fish?" began the tourist. "Ive caught enough for today." Answered the villager. "But why dont you go out and catch more and make some money and then buy a net so you can catch even more?" "What for?" "Then you could buy a motor for your canoe and go out further where there are still more fish to catch." "But why catch more fish?" "So that you can earn more money and buy a whole fleet of fishing boats." "Then what?" "Then you would become rich and could spend your time taking it easy." "Thats what Im already doing." Tony de Mello
