An unusual sports record: During the 1979-80 England cricket tour of Australia an unusual sports record was set up. A bowler named Willey, bowled to a player called Lillee, and the ball was caught by an Australian named Dilley!

12 year-old wins gold medal: At the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburg (Britain) 12 year-old Ved Prakash, a young Indian wrestler, won the gold medal.

Fastest goal scored in Football: Three British soccer players Barrie Jones, Keith Smith and Albert Munday share a recordthe fasted goal scored in football in 6 seconds.

10 wickets in 46 overs: Jim Laker of Surrey (England) took all 10 Australian wickets for 88 in 46 overs at the Oval in London on 16 May 1956.

Facts about Hockey: Hockey was played in Persia (Iran) in West Asia. The Olympic Games of ancient Greece included a game like Hockey when a ball was struck with hooked sticks. The Romans played a kind of Hockey. Later in Ireland and Scotland games like �hurley� and �shinty� resembling Hockey were played. Hockey became a popular game from the middle of the 19th century. The first Hockey club, �Blackheath� was then formed. The rules of the game were formulated by the Wimbledon Club and these were adopted by the Hockey Association in 1886.
