February 2005
New manager takes over from Sam Williams; a lady called Patricia Sutherns.  Watch this space, i'm due to go feb. 19th so it will be interesting to see if there are any changes.
Quality of respite care at the centre has been drastically reduced.  staff and volunteers not supposed to socialise with guests anymore, the friendliness has gone.  Pat employed new deputy  chef sarah ex-army girl who is rubbish.  she takes over when head chef brian is not there.
The new manager has dismissed one of the most popular deputy asst managers Ms Lolly Dean under mysterious circumstances, falsy accused her of wrong doings, lolly is innocent and cannot get another iob except bar-tendering owing to not being able to get a written reference from vitalise even after devoting the past eight years of her life to working for the organisation.
Pat Sutherns the new manager is becoming increasingly un-popular, dismissing all the staff employed in the past and grooming new members of staff into her way of thinking.
One of the most popular volunteers Dave Oliver was banned for life by pat in june 2005 for a mis-understanding with nurse Jules.
The future of skylarks vitalise looks bleak, there have been alot of complaints against the new management - but head office operatives Ms Marie Kearney and ex-skylarks manager Ms Lynne Wilson support the decisions of Pat Sutherns.  They never directly answer questions put to them in letters of complaint. many of the guests are unable to put their views in writing and consequently their verbal complaints aren't getting through to the right people who are in a position to act
Every year the cost of respite at vitalise goes up and w.e.f. april 2006 guests will have to buy in their own travel insurance before they visit any vitalise centre as there was notification in 2006 brochure it would no longer be covered. (this piece has been written on saturday 22nd april 2006 after a pathetic reply by marie kearney to vitalise to tony plants letter of complaint).
went to skylarks 25th nov 2006 for one week.  very short of volunteers, a new temporary manager has been appointed mr kian fothergill who used to be operations manager brought out of retirement.  mason is the deputy manager, met a korean girl called jeehae.
i'm planning oon returning in march 2007 for one week.
