Holiday 9th - 23rd February 2002
Anna in Skylarks bar area - 1999 (I think)
Entertainment
Evening entertainment varies each evening ;-
-   Bingo is usually on the list, lasting approx. 2 hours at a cost of around 50p per ticket (Year 2001 prices)
-   pop and general knowledge quizzes, in groups of four teams
-   Blockbusters board game
-   Live entertainment some evenings, either male / female singers or comedians.  The singers tend to bring their own sdound system equipment and frequently have the volume way to loud.  There is a regular chap that goes who immitates the singer Neil Diamond
-   In years gone by the members of Skylarks staff have put on a cabaret on Friday evenings - these have proved highly entertaining and popular
-   On November 5th, whenever I've been at Skylarks, they have had a very ellaborate, very good firework display in the grounnds outside the indoor swimming pool.   Last year 2000 they had it in the rain, some spectators stood outside with umbrellas and others watched from indoors.  The surrounding sky lit up with spectacular colours.   There is usually a trip to Alton Towers firework display from Skylarks costing around 11.50 which is the best I've seen in the country.  I went in 1997 and 1998
Fundraising
Since visiting Skylarks I've met quite a few people associated with fundraising at the centre.  Some of the earlier names escape from my memory, 1997 one was Phil Tipper who went on to design the Skylarks "Wheelies" post-card.   The current fundraiser to date April 2001  is Jane McGeary (pictured below) who is by far the most attractive one - so far !!!!!!!!   Never met her - yet - but hope to do so one day!!
