| inSIGNIFICANT STORY: (Told by Shane) (last updated a really long time ago) About a year ago (Late 2001) Jeff and Shane were talking about starting a band and Jeff said he'd play guitar and Shane would play the drums. A few months later Shane and Jeff began to practice (Shane didn't even have drums yet). Jim who sat at their lunch table told them that he also played guitar and they asked him to come and practice. At first the band really sucked and there was no bass player (or drums). The bands first name was Standing in Traffic but soon changed because it was dumb. Later on S.I.T. played at Matt's Christmas Party and really sucked. We had one amp, a karaoke machine, no mic stands, and no cymbals for the drums. It wasnt pretty. That soon would change. A few months later (and a few names later) inSIGNIFICANT was making a bunch of new songs and playing covers, but still had no bassist. The band needed a bass player in time for the talent show a week later so they asked someone from school to join the band. inSIGNIFICANT then performed at the Talent Show and the Brecksville Rec. (among other places) and they were getting much better and had many more fans. Over spring break the fellas recorded a 7 song CD in Shanes (basement good, music bad quality). We got a new bass player, Ryan, and the band started going somewhere. inSIGNIFICANT is just starting to play clubs all over Cleveland and is building a fanbase among people from their school (Midpark), their friends; and mainly, their parents. The have played tons of places in the short time they've been a band and have been seen in The Plain Dealer, The News Sun, on WKYC Channel 3, WOIO Channel 19, WEWS Channel 5, WUAB Channel 43, FOX 8 Cleveland, and BCS-TV. They've also been featured in bulletin boards located in all of the Berea City Schools because of their representation of Midpark at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (which we won) Buckle Up contest! We played in Peabody's Battle of the Bands gaining a nice bronze at third place (not bad considering our fans left when we were done). Well, that's just a few of the places inSIGNIFICANT have been mentioned or shown... for now. We'll keep practicing and playing our best for everyone who wants to come see us sometime. |
