FLIES
Flies, mosquitos, gnats and midges belong to the Diptera (one pair of wings) group of insects. They constitute a very large group of insects and are very important pollinators; they mostly escape notice, but probably they are better pollinators than butterflies.

This Shyrphid fly (Eristalis transversa) is a bee mimic.
This is called a hover fly because that is what it does above flowers. Syrphidae.

Bombyiliid or bee fly. These flies parasitize the nests of solitary bees aside from being good pollinators.
